Raven smiled for the first time at the thought of their kids, instead of feeling paralyzing fear at the prospect of raising the child alone. Also feeling intense relief with how great Clarke was taking the news. It was almost strange how differently she’d imagined their encounter, the fear of rejection from both Clarke and Finn. But now she didn’t have to worry about that, which was completely to do with the fact that this was happening with Clarke and no one else. They had a complicated friendship, which was only about to get more complicated but it was a friendship nonetheless. Nobody else would have been this happy under the same circumstances. “Yeah I guess they will be,” she said laughing.
It was all suddenly becoming so much more real, nearly overwhelming her. But as Clarke continued she felt the fear being slowly replaced by hope. They were really going to do this. Together. “Do you really mean that?” It was the pessimist in her asking, but she had to be sure. Raven trusted her but her trust had been broken before. It left her with a constantly nagging feeling that at any moment she could be abandoned. It’s part of what made it so difficult for her to ever ask for help. “Cause if you do then I’m in. For the long haul.” And this was her kid she was talking about, so there couldn’t be any doubt. “No take backs,” she added with a smile, but with a sense of seriousness in her tone.

Clarke was exaggerating, that much was obvious, but Raven wasn’t sure what more she could say to convince her of her worth. Because she disagreed with the other girl, vehemently. Clarke underestimated her worth in their lives, a mistake Raven wasn’t going to make. It would take time to grieve Finn, to settle the anger that bubbled within her whenever she thought about the circumstances of his death. And most of all getting over how goddamn difficult it was to look at Clarke, without being constantly reminded of the sacrifice. That would prove to be the hardest thing to get over. But that didn’t mean she didn’t want her in her life. And it sure as hell didn’t mean they’d be better off without her.
“You’re not giving yourself enough credit there, Clarke.” Raven didn’t doubt her own, or Bellamy’s abilities, but Clarke shouldn’t doubt hers either. “We’d all be dead a million times over if it weren’t for you.” She hadn’t just been their leader, but their healer too. “And I’m not saying that to flatter you. Just stating facts.” She was just speaking the truth. “With Finn I…” Raven hesitated, taking in an unsteady breath. “I couldn’t…have done what you did for him.” She quickly wiped away an escaped tear, cursing the show of weakness. “You…you did what you had to do.” The statement wasn’t exactly a show of forgiveness on Raven’s part, but it was all she would offer for now. And even that was difficult to admit.

Raven stopped thinking and just reacted. Her actions in sync with his. When he moved she moved, and it felt good, really damn good. It was finally offering her an outlet for all the pent up rage and anger she’d been bottling up. Rising to the surface it overflowed and she poured every ounce of it into the kiss. But soon it wasn’t enough. She needed more and Bellamy it seemed had the same idea. Helping him take off her shirt, Raven hastily pulled her hair tie, throwing it away to let her hair free. She always preferred it that way. Desperately she pulled Bellamy’s jacket off, kissing his exposed neck inch by inch before tossing it to the ground, allowing her teeth to graze over his pulse point then proceeding to move back up to his mouth, her tongue teasing his lips before finally giving in to desire.
One hand steadying herself on the hood of the car she broke contact with him. Immediately feeling the loss she quickly used his shoulders as an anchor and seated herself right at the edge of the car. Seeking his lips out again Raven hooked a couple fingers around a belt loop of his trousers, pulling his hips against hers. The contact forced her to outwardly groan into the kiss, but it only heightened her desire for more contact, her need for him. The new position offered her height over him, giving her the upper hand in whatever this was. She was in control now and loving every moment of it. Fumbling with his belt buckle she tried to pull it off but failed, her hands clumsy in the heat of the moment. Groaning again but this time in frustration she instead concentrated on an easier task, pulling his own shirt over his head. Craving the moment skin would finally meet skin.

Monty special. Raven smiled at the comment. As far as she remembered his drinks tasted goddamn awful but they sure as hell worked. And something strong was exactly what she’d asked for. “Sounds perfect.” Just what she needed. Taste wasn’t much of a defining factor for her right now. Even the smell was beginning to burn her nostrils before she even touched the cup to her lips. Taking a gulp from the glass poured she felt the liquid burn hot straight down her throat. Safe to say…it wasn’t a cup of roses. But it got the job done. The pain of the drink already beginning to distract her from the pain of her hip. Letting out a short cough Raven smiled at the girl. Gena. Nice name, but not one she was familiar with.
Holding out a hand she introduced herself. “Nice to meet you, I’m Raven.” Finishing the drink, Raven let out another cough and laughed. “You sure didn’t hold out on me there Gena. This stuff’s strong.” Pushing the empty glass towards the other girl, Raven half smiled at her. “Keep it coming.” Sighing she put a hand at her hip, digging her knuckles in to subdue the pain unsuccessfully. She was going to need more of ‘Monty’s special’ if she hoped to do that. “So where are you from? I haven’t seen you around.” She obviously wasn’t from Mecha or Raven would have met her. So Gena must have been from one of the stations they’d found that crashed to the earth. Unless Raven was just extremely unobservant.

A smile spread across Raven’s face when Clarke finally conceded and saw her way. “Good.” Sure it wasn’t going to be easy. It was going to be damn hard. Raven still had nightmares about the blood of the few people on her hands. With Mount Weather who knew what Clarke was going through? But this was a start. A big step in the road to both of their recoveries. It may leave permanent scars but she knew that together at least the gaping wound would finally close. Raven was aware of her slightly selfish intentions for wanting her to return to the camp. Clarke was one of the only people she could actually talk to about this stuff. She needed her just as much as Clarke needed them.
Reaching out towards her, Raven took Clarke’s hand forcing the other girl to unwrap her arm, and gave her a gently squeeze. To be reassuring and because that was about as hard as Raven could squeeze in the state she was in. “Don’t worry Clarke, we’ll fix this.” She said confidently. “We’ll fix you.” Because isn’t that what Raven did? It’s what she was good at. Fixing things. She had to be. Before she could continue, Raven started coughing again. Hard. The bowl of food fell off her lap, smashing to the ground. She could swear she was about to cough up a lung. Keeping a hand over her face, she half laughed between each coughing fit. “I think you’ll have to fix me up first though, doc,” she said wheezing.

Raven’s eyes remained open for a moment as the shock of what was happening washed over her. That certainly shut her up. Unsure of how to proceed, her mind was racing, and her heart almost stopped. Leaving her unable to articulate a single thought. She barely moved, not quite kissing him back before he suddenly moved away. That’s when she felt it. The absence of him and her longing for more. It was almost difficult for her to admit how goddamn good it felt. “Talking is overrated." Her hands were hovering in the air around his shoulders, as their bodies were still so close. So while she remained speechless she reacted the only way she knew how in the confused state she was in. And that was by slapping him across the face. Instinct. It wasn’t very hard but it was hard enough to put some distance between them.
There was a pause in that moment that seemed to last forever, as her breath hitched. She finally weighed her options in the span of what was probably a fraction of a second. One, she could tell him to leave, which knowing Bellamy, he would probably oblige. Two, she could leave, pretend like this didn’t happen, like he didn’t just kiss her so hard it left her speechless. Or…three. The most reckless of the choices and the one she should probably definitely not choose. But right here, right now, Raven didn’t care. She pushed everyone away, it’s what she did best. But maybe just this once, she didn’t have to. Because even if it wasn’t real. It sure as hell felt real. And she needed that right now. Looking at Bellamy in that moment, she guessed he probably did too.
Without a word, Raven pulled him by his collar, kissing him, hard, her body pressing into his. Letting her lips part so he would know how much she wanted this, god needed this too. There wasn’t much tenderness in her actions. It was sloppy and angry and desperate but it didn’t matter. Biting his lower lip, she raked her hands through his hair pulling it softly, and impatiently. But impatient for what, she wasn’t quite sure yet.

Raven thanked every god imaginable when she heard a voice respond to her. She wasn’t usually the lucky type but now she felt like the luckiest girl on the ground. Especially at this time of night. But Raven didn’t really recognise the girl on the other side of the bar, so naturally she hadn’t really had the chance to ever speak to her. But hearing her now, she seemed nice enough. A great first impression, that was probably helped by the fact that she just happened to be here when Raven needed her. But a great one nonetheless. “Couldn’t sleep,” she answered bluntly. Not in the mood to divulge anything further. She’d need a few drinks in her before that could happen.
“That’s good to hear.” Some peace and quiet and most importantly time alone, was what she really needed right now. Away from prying eyes. “Just give me whatever you got.” Something fast and strong. Raven wasn’t feeling picky about what it was. As long as it worked to dull the pain. Physical and mental. She didn’t feel up to being alone with her thoughts right now. Best to just drink them away. That meant she’d probably need a little more than one drink. “And don’t hold out on me,.…?” She paused, a question in her eyes, giving the other girl a chance to introduce herself. She wasn’t usually particularly friendly these days, but seeing as they would probably be spending the next few hours together it would probably be rude to completely ignore her existence.

Not commander. Huh. He was sarcastic this grounder. Witty even. It caught her off guard. But she went with it. Making sure to stay in control of the situation. But there didn’t seem to be any excessive hostility between them. As he continued, explaining why he needed the wood she noticed his speech pattern. It was good, but not fluent. Not like how she’d noticed their warriors speak. It was more like that healer. Nyko. Maybe he was a healer then? Or at least something other than a warrior. Perhaps he even knew Nyko.
She took a step back, ready to make an exit and hopefully catch up with the others before he spoke again. She looked at her gun as he motioned towards it. Referring to her as…crippled? The word stopped her dead in her tracks. “What did you just say?” She tried to keep her anger at the term from reaching her face, unsuccessfully. “Cripple?” And here she was thinking there she wouldn’t need to be hostile towards the grounder. Perhaps he didn’t mean anything by it, maybe he was just curious. But she didn’t care. She hated that word, reminding her of the state of her leg, and how it was only getting worse. It made her feel broken and incompetent. “I’ll have you know I’m an excellent shot.” She raised her gun again, pointing it straight at him. “Would you like me to demonstrate?” she asked rhetorically. She knew it was a reckless threat to make. But the nerve. It was infuriating.

She rolled her eyes at the bluntness of his response. He was arrogant, that was for sure. But then she couldn’t fault him for that without being a hypocrite. And if he was offering to teach she couldn’t pass up the opportunity. He was probably the only one on the ground with any actual experience with using the weapons. She just needed to swallow her pride and accept the offer. Which was of course easier said than done in her case. Especially when it came to Bellamy. Hadn’t they been this close to killing each other not too long ago?
“Okay, okay fine.” She said holing up her hands. “Since you asked so nicely,” she added sarcastically. She actually felt…excited? At the thought of practicing with the weapons. It wasn’t exactly a daily occurrence on the ark. Sure she’d handled weapons before, fired them to test whether they worked or not. But actually using them for combat? To kill? That would be a whole different experience and one that the more Raven thought about it, she was eager to try out. That should probably worry her. “I’ll have enough bullets ready by then.” Things were looking up. Though on the ground expectations were extremely low. But even the tension in the room was beginning to lift. She still felt some bitterness directed at Bellamy but the task at hand and the subject change was slowly forcing that to ebb away. “You really think you can get them ready in time though?” For the inevitable grounder attack. It was a pessimistic question but she had to be realistic. Her tone wasn’t malicious, but genuine. Which she certainly wasn’t used to when it came to Bellamy.

Raven woke up in a cold sweat. Her breathing heavy and a sharp pain radiating from her hip destroying any hope she had of getting back to sleep. It wasn’t what woke her though. At least not this time. She wiped the sleep from her face, also hoping to wipe away the flashes of the nightmare she’d endured. It was getting ridiculous. And the obvious toll it was taking on her body wasn’t helping either. The exhaustion was eating away at her slowly but surely, and Raven wasn’t sure how long she could take it. But no way was she asking for help. There had to be a way for her to fix this on her own. Hell she could fix anything. Why not herself?
Until such a time came, Raven knew of a temporary solution to her current predicament. She’d never had time before, with most of it being spent on fixing the cars. But now was as good a time as any to get herself a well-deserved drink. God knows she needed it. Going through the routine of tying her hair and putting on her brace, Raven made her way to the mess hall. It may have been foolish but she was still holding out hope that someone would be there to pour her a drink, even at this time of night. Raven had many skills, but she hadn’t quite mastered that. As she sat down in front of the makeshift bar, she sighed. There was no one there. No one she could immediately see anyway. “Hello?” She called, hoping this one time to be mistaken. “Anyone here?” Leaning over the bar she called out again. “Bar..keep?”

She should’ve expected Bellamy’s reaction. It wasn’t like he would open up and they’d talk and have a good cry about it. That’s just not who they were. Not how they worked. They dealt with things similarly, by pushing it down as deep as they could. And running away from it all by burying themselves in work. It’s how she finished up the car so quickly. He was right of course, she had no right to ask him to open up when she was so unwilling to do so herself. But Raven was stubborn. And god damn it she was not going to be the first of them to admit to being broken.
She stood for a moment, watching the distance between them shrink into almost nothing. He was so close she could smell the anger on his breath. It left her obviously overwhelmed for a moment making her contemplate stepping back before she finally found her voice again. “I just,” her voice almost broke, causing her to take in breath, before continuing slightly louder than before. “I just wanted you to say something real, okay?” The admission forced her to look away for a moment, tears stinging the back of her eyes as the memories flooded in. Of the hurt. The pain.
“Forget it,” It was a moment of weakness. Cursing herself for it, she instead decided to turn it into anger. At him. “God.” Raven shifted forward instead of backing off, refusing to let him intimidate her. “Screw you, Bellamy,” she said viciously, pointing a finger into his chest. Her breathing was heavy, and the blood pumped hard through her veins. The anger was almost welcome. Because at least it was forcing her to feel something, anything. And it was so damn easy to be angry at Bellamy.

This will probably definitely be disproved in later episodes but I thought maybe since Gena Martin and Raven are friends and that cute little comment she made to Bellamy Blake when they got into the car "She's too good for you." That maybe Raven had a hand in getting them together like she was the one that introduced them or something. *Twirls and lives in fantasy Bellena land foreveeeerrrrrr*

Raven was in immense pain, from the explosion at the dam to the drilling, she’d been through a lot. But still, she found it difficult to sit still in medical. There were so many others who were hurt far worse than she was. They needed to be taken care of a hell of a lot more urgently than she did. It was why she snuck away as soon as Jackson had checked her over. Sure she’d been explicitly told to stay in bed and rest so she could heal, but that wasn’t going to happen. At least not yet. Because while she did long for the time to heal there was something she needed to deal with first.
Raven’s relationship with Clarke was…complicated at best. But they’d been through enough together now, that it got easier to read her face, her expressions. And the look on Clarke’s face when they got to camp worried her. It wasn’t filled with relief like everyone else’s. It was torn and heavy with what Raven had to assume was guilt. And with an expression like that she had to assume Clarke was going to do something stupid. And Raven wasn’t exactly going to sit idly by and let that happen. Not now when she needed her most.
It was easy to sneak away, with the crowd of patients that needed to be taken care of, providing the perfect distraction. And with Abby as one of those patients, the shortage of doctors wouldn’t exactly notice if just one patient went missing. Grabbing the first crutches she could find in medical, Raven quickly, or as quickly as she could made her way back to the gate, expecting to find Clarke there. And she did. With that same look on her face, looking away from the camp. “Hey,” she called before leaning on the crutches as she reached her. “Why aren’t you inside?”

He was evading again. It was even more obvious this time if that were even possible. But she just sighed and decided maybe pressing further wasn’t the best course of action. But opening up herself didn’t sound so appealing either. “I disagree.” Pressing further it was then. Raven was aware it might not be a good idea. That maybe getting back to talking about cars would be better for them. For her. Safer even. Especially at this time of night when she could feel the tension in the room thickening the more she chose to delve deeper into this potentially volatile subject.
“What are you so afraid of?” She asked shrugging her shoulders and taking a step towards him. Raven didn’t really know what she hoped to achieve by stoking the fire. But it was what she did best. Very rarely did it ever work out well for anyone. Least of all her. But it was her defence mechanism. As hypocritical as it sounded she needed to be in control of the situation, always. And that meant being just as obvious in evading the subject as he was. The very subject that she had brought up in the first place.
So what if that was cowardly? Raven didn’t want to be brave, not now. It was an impossible situation. She wanted to broach the subject and run away from it at the same time. Bellamy seemed to be in a similar mind-set. All that resulted was very hypocritical aggression. They were both obviously frustrated and angry and broken. But Raven wasn't good at the whole feelings thing and Bellamy was probably even worse.
