There it was again. That blame; heavy in his words and tone. Raven was well aware that there was nothing she could say or do to stop him. She just didn’t have the words. She never seemed to. That was Gena’s speciality, her skill. Something Raven had loved most about her. The ability to use tough love and the honest truth to change even the most stubborn of hearts. Like hers. Like Bellamy’s. And she’d be lying if she tried to deny feeling the same way. The guilt of her death now added to the heavy burden she was forced to carry around. Weighing down on her, trying to break her. And now, how long was Raven supposed to last until she shattered underneath it all?
Violence was the only answer. It was as true then as it is now. The grounders continued to make that abundantly clear. How many chances were they supposed to get before every arker was wiped off the face of the Earth. A planet they also had a right to dammit. “Me too, Blake.” The truest words she’d ever spoken. “I don’t know if I can build a brace for this.” A memory of a similar sentence she’d once said to Finn flashed in her mind. One of the last things she’d ever said to him. It was easier said than done. This wound was open and gaping with no chance of scarring over anytime soon. “I’m just…so…angry.” It was consuming her. “She was so innocent, I…” One of the few who’s light hadn’t been tainted by this life, by this world. “I wish I could’ve taken her place.” It would haunt her for the rest of her life. That she’d been having a stupid heart to heart talk with Sinclair while Gena was under the same roof…choking on her own blood.

Raven sighed internally. He was doing it again. Trying to “save” her, when really she wasn’t the one that needed saving. How could he not see it? The benefits that the City of Light offered were plain as day. She felt so much better, lighter at the weight of all her grief being lifted. She didn’t even know what it used to feel like. As if all that heartbreak floated away like a memory of a memory. “You’re wrong Bellamy,” she said simply, the same unnerving smile gracing her features. “This is exactly me.” But without the burden of the pain she had suffered, pain that she never needed to think about again.
“If anything, this is happiness in its purest from. Finn and Gena would understand that. They’d be happy for me.” Like he should be. It was bliss. She’d never felt like this in her life. Suddenly, she wasn’t lost anymore, Raven had a real purpose. “You don’t know what this is like, and you’re never gonna know until you take the key.” There was no point trying to convince him of the way she felt anymore. Of the benefits A.L.I.E had kindly given her. He was far too stubborn and set in his own state of mind. “Aren’t you the least bit curious?” Bellamy had been through more than his fair share of pain, much more. He stood to earn the most from the City of Light. It’s why she was doing this. This whole plan was a way to save him. From his pain…from himself. “Now, pass me a grenade.” It was time to get this show on the road.

Aquatherapy? She scoffed at the suggestion. He must be kidding. Though she had to hand it to him, it was definitely a new one. Raven just sat there a bemused look on her face as he went on to explain all the benefits of the treatment. She could almost laugh at his sudden change in demeanour sounding like a damn professor all of a sudden. It was disconcerting. The more he spoke the more it started to dawn on her. No one on the ark liked water or knew how to swim, except for that waterboy she'd vaguely heard about. The boy who’d been stupid enough to contaminate about a month’s supply of water for a stupid swimming lesson. No way did that kid survive this whole time without her knowing about it. But as he spoke Raven did the math. He would’ve still been under 18 when the dropship was sent to the ground. And when she’d arrived, getting to know the other delinquents hadn’t exactly been a priority between trying to build bombs and keeping everyone alive.
Theoretically it was possible. This kid could be him. Against her better judgement the prospect definitely intrigued her. “You’re that waterboy aren’t you? The jackass that lost us like a months’ supply of water so he could play little mermaid.” A story Finn had told her when they were children and one she’d never admit to anyone else about liking. “You know what kid, why the hell not? I could use a distraction.” And he definitely fit the bill. “And hey, if it doesn’t work, what’s the harm in getting a little wet?” She said with a very suggestive wink, just to catch him off guard. “I’m in.” She said, her voice low, offering him her hand to shake on it, before leaning close and whispering into his ear. “But if you try anything funny, or I drown out there…I’ll kill you with my bare hands.” And that was a promise.

Raven was losing herself in this perfect moment, this perfect kiss. Filling her and leaving no room in her mind for all the doubts and consequences that would surely come of this obvious lapse in judgement. But she could barely form a sentence in her mind let alone think about how wrong this all was. It was the taste of him, the smell, and the sensations filling her senses that kept her going. And the fact that he was just as invested into this endeavour, the way that he said her name…only fuelled her actions. This was probably selfish, using him like this for the second time. But it felt different now, there was more than just physical need, though that was a great part of it. But if she dug down, Raven knew, there was something deeper to this. Because it wasn’t just about being pregnant and horny, or needing to sate some physical desire with just anyone. It was him, from the moment her lips touched his she’d known it. She’d been craving Bellamy Blake. And it damn well terrified her.
His question forced her to pause and look up, sobering her up for a moment. It caught her off guard. Perhaps he didn’t want this. Or he knew this would be a mistake. Taking a step back, she put a little bit of distance between them, their bodies no longer touching. The lack of contact almost painful. “You’re right.” If they went through with this everything would change. It wouldn’t be like that time in the tent when she’d gone to him to get back at Finn, and attempt to move on. Going straight back to normal afterwards. This was different. Because there was more at stake now. “This is probably a bad idea.” This was definitely a bad idea. “It would be wrong, and unfair of me...” To use him. “We…shouldn’t,” she added, slightly breathless. But dammit if she didn’t want to. Even as she spoke to him, her eyes were roaming his body instead of his face, biting her lip, trying to picture and remember every line of his chest, his skin, every birthmark and dimple. But Raven hadn’t been paying enough attention before. If given the chance, she certainly wouldn’t make that mistake again. Finally her eyes lifted to meet his, only now they were black with desire and poorly hidden need. Taking a step forward her chest heaving with every breath, Raven needed him to be the one to leave. Because if he didn't...she wouldn't be able to control herself.

Raven let out an unashamed guttural moan as he finally entered her. Her back arched as a wave of ecstasy flooded her threatening to burst. She could barely breathe when he filled her, her face twisting with pleasure, as he finally satisfied that need, that desire to feel him, all of him on every inch of her skin. Her nails dug into his shoulder, it would probably leave a mark, but Raven couldn’t bring herself to care right now. Slowly, she began to move, her hips rocking against his as he moved deeper inside her with every thrust. She barely allowed herself to think that this was Bellamy beneath her fingers. Bellamy Blake, a friend she respected and cared about deeply. No, here now he was strong, skilful Bellamy who expertly wrought damn near every bit of pleasure from her body until she couldn't breathe.
The hot hard grinding of their bodies still wasn’t enough for her. She needed more, faster…deeper. “Ah…Harder,” she gasped, picking up the pace of their rocking hips, desperately trying to find that rhythm, that sweet spot that would always tear her apart. It was the only word she could articulate with her thoughts in fragments. Barely able to string together a sentence. Kissing him again, sloppy and desperate, she craved the contact. Riding him, all thoughts of her leg disappeared. The only thing in her mind now was the satisfaction of pleasing the desperate ache she felt deep in her skin, her very bones...and between her legs
There was no tenderness in their actions, it was all rough and filled with hunger, for just a few moments of feeling like the world wasn’t going to consume them. Like the ground wasn’t as bad and scary as it actually was. And like they weren’t actually both so desperately alone. “Keep...up…Blake” she moaned with a smirk, hidden in the crook of his neck, the words coming out more breathless and and less composed than she’d hoped. Her tongue instead tasting the beads of sweat forming there now from their almost frantic actions. One hand steadying herself across his shoulders, while the other scratched down his back to reach his backside, pulling his hips towards hers as she ground into him again, groaning at the contact.

His silence burned through her. She needed him to say something, anything. So they could at least start to get past this. She would understand if he didn’t feel the same way. Raven would get over it surely. Only this time, with this kiss, she wasn’t quite sure how easy that would actually be. There was more to this kiss than just physical need. As much as she wanted to, Raven couldn't completely blame her show of affection on just hormones this time. Not needing to wonder for long, Bellamy stepped forward and kissed her again. Kissed her back. And this time she finally allowed herself to really lose herself in the pleasure it brought her. Relieving that itch she just couldn’t scratch earlier, for just a moment. But it meant more to her than that. His lips felt familiar but this time the contact satisfied her on a much deeper level.
Just as she was about to part her lips and deepen the kiss, he let go. Leaving Raven to immediately feel his absence, his loss on an almost animalistic level. Her body ached for more contact. His words ringing true in her ears. “I think you might be right,” she replied with a smirk of her own. Now that she knew he at least returned her advances, she wanted, no needed to explore this further. Threading her fingers through his hair, she pulled him towards her, a more ardent kiss followed this time. As she parted her lips, Raven was finally hit with the realisation that the taste she’d been looking for, craving and aching for all this time…was the taste of him.
“Mmmm,” she moaned into the kiss. Her tongue exploring his mouth before she began to lay feverent kisses on his cheek down to his jaw...then his neck. Her lips and tongue trying to taste as much of him as she could, before she gently allowed her teeth to graze his pulse point. Though none of it sated her need, leaving her almost breathless for more. More of him.The itch was still there, only growing in intensity now that she knew just how to scratch it. Was she using him? Perhaps, but she'd find time to worry about that later. For now, her desire was all that she had room to think about.

She was being silly. But she hated feeling insecure. Raven was so used to feeling confident and in control of her own body, that every time she lost that control, dealing with it was never easy. First her leg, and now her whole body was changing and there was nothing she could do to stop it. The only thing keeping her together was the fact that it was all for her kid, and Bellamy. Her rock. Though she didn’t like to admit it, she had a feeling he already knew how much his presence meant to her. Even if Raven wasn’t always the best at articulating how she felt.
Turning around at his gently prompting, she folded her arms before finally looking into his eyes. Bellamy’s words…were perfect. They were more than perfect because they were genuine. She could see it in his eyes that he meant every single word. He really thought she was beautiful. And with just a few words he made all those doubts and insecurities almost completely fade away. That was quite a skill he had there. A small smile spread across her face, she couldn’t help it. But instead of stepping away from their now unexpectedly close proximity Raven instead glanced down at his lips for a moment before sealing the distance between them with a soft kiss. Surprising herself and probably him too in the process. She just didn’t have the words to convey how much his words meant to her, how much he meant to her.
But a kiss definitely was not the plan. Taking a sudden step back, her hand instinctively raised to her face. Her fingers brushing across her now slightly swollen lips. What the hell was she thinking, kissing Bellamy? He was her friend, her kid’s father, Bellamy. She should be doing anything but kissing Bellamy. Come on Reyes, get yourself together. Oh god, how was she supposed to fix this? “I’m…I’m sorry I don’t know what that was, I…” she said with an awkward laugh, trying to play it off like it was no big deal. But this was a big deal. Raven just kissed Bellamy of all people. Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion, as she quickly looked away unable to meet his probably horrified gaze.

"Cute." She loved making him say that. "Two weeks then. Try not to make it longer." Pfft, as if she needed him telling her that. “Yes sir,” she said with a sarcastic little salute and a grin. Hell, she’d probably spend half of that time adding extremely necessary tweaks and finishing touches. All the plans already forming in her mind. This was going to be fun. A great little makeover project for her to work on. That car was going to be glad it got wrecked. It came in here a lowly maid but it would leave looking like Cinderella…but more awesome. With Raven being the badass mechanic fairy godmother…of course.
Raven barely heard a word he said past the fact that her car was fine. “Oh thank god!” She felt like she could finally breathe, a hand on her chest in sheer relief. It was like music to her ears. Dean was okay! Even if he’d been torn to pieces, god forbid, she’d still find a way to piece him back together. There was nothing that she wouldn’t do for him; it. A genuine smile spread across her face and before she even knew what she was doing her arms were already wrapped tight around Bellamy’s body. Hugging him for all he was worth. “Thank you, Bellamy. I don’t know what I would’ve done.” Letting go, she stepped back suddenly…coughing into her fist to try and get past that random show of affection. “Umm I owe you one,” she said, stepping forward and giving him a light and, what was meant to be a playful but turned out to be weird and awkward, punch on the shoulder. “So when do I get to bring…it home.”

Her expression quickly changed from a smirk to a scowl. There he was again. Taking another ridiculous bite out of that damn apple. There was no way it tasted as good as he made it out to be. And not his type? Raven was everyone’s type. And she damn well knew it. Unless he preferred men. But even then she still didn’t doubt her abilities to be the exception. Lucky for him he wasn’t her type either. Too pretty, she thought bitterly. Raven rolled her eyes at his annoying and albeit successful attempt at trying to irritate her with the apple. Playing it off like it didn’t really bother her. Although she was just about five seconds away from just knocking it out of his hands like a petulant child. While usually she wouldn’t do that sort of thing, right now Raven wasn’t quite sure she was above such a childish display of irritation.
He was way too casual, too comfortable for her liking. But she couldn’t help the short chuckle that escaped her at his cocky remarks. It was almost endearing…almost. More entertaining than anything. She even gave a sarcastic laugh at his joke about the foot. If she thought about it, Raven couldn't really remember the last time she'd just sat for a moment and laughed with someone, let alone a stranger, a way too arrogant for his own good stranger, but still. It was a rare occurrence for her these days. But she wasn't deluded, Raven understood the restrictions reality actually forced, as much as she wanted to change them. She couldn't. “Help me how? Huh? There’s nothing you could do for me that I haven’t already tried.” That wasn’t really the whole truth. But she still didn’t trust him enough to accept help. “You’re pretty, sure. Funny…maybe? But a miracle worker? I don’t think so.” All the talk about her leg making her aware of the pain again, forced her to hiss as she kneaded her hand into her hip once more. “As tempting as it would be to actually kick your ass, because god knows you need it, I’m going to have to pass," she said through gritted teeth. Trying and failing to hide just how much the damn leg was affecting her.

The cocky expression on his face was really starting to irritate her. Who did this kid think he was? And what...did he think he was doing just sitting next to her, like he owned the place. If she’d known her question would invite this blatant disregard for some personal space she would have just sent him packing or never have said anything at all. Don’t even get her started on that goddamn apple. No one in the history of Earth needed that long to bite and chew an apple. It was insufferable.
“What? Need something from you? HA!” As if. There was nothing he could do for her. Unless he was suggesting… no there was no way this absolute stranger was could be that forward and that stupid. And besides she really wasn’t in the mood. “Actually as a matter of fact I do,” she said, a little smirk playing on her lips. “If you take…one more ridiculously drawn out bite of that apple…I’m going to take a bite out of you.” She paused to let the threat sink in, leaning in closer, her breath on his neck invading some of his personal space for a change. “And not the kinky kind.” Leaning back again, the smirk returned to her features. “The I’m going to beat your ass kind.”
It was perhaps a little silly, making hollow threats considering her current physical state. But it felt so damn good. Like she was her old self again. Like Raven could actually follow through if she wanted to. “So if you don’t mind…kid,” she said with a raised eyebrow, because she didn’t know his name and a little because she wanted to irritate him too. It was an obvious hint. But if she really thought about it, Raven was kind of, just a little, enjoying his presence. It was a fun distraction, giving out idle threats to random strangers. She should do this more often.

She was in one of her more bitter moods today. So really it wasn’t her fault that he just happened to be in the wrong place at the really wrong time. “Yeah, well I don’t remember that being my problem,” she snapped at the boy. Recognising him as that pretty delinquent with the silly name. Jean? Jacques? Something like that. Not that she really cared. Certainly not enough to actually ask. Raven just really wasn't in the mood for company. Much less company that had just witnessed her little outburst moments ago. She knew what happened to her leg and how she was dealing with it was no secret, but she was dealing with it. And besides it was no one’s damn business how she went about that.
Sighing and cursing herself for having a conscience, she felt the familiar twinges of something akin to guilt. He was just trying to help, maybe take her mind off things. Raven just didn’t always take too kindly to people observing her vulnerability. This leg made her feel weak enough as it is, she didn’t need more people understanding just how weak it really made her. All she had left was that fragile illusion of some semblance of strength. But every day something ate away at it like a disease. How much longer could she last until it completely shattered? “Do you need something, kid?” she asked a little less snappy this time, overcompensating for her earlier bitter words. As she unconsciously kneaded her fist into her hip again, the pain a little less severe now with the unexpected distraction. He probably wasn’t that much younger than her, but Raven would really use anything to assert control or power. Even words.

It was all happening so quickly that for the most part all she could do was react. To every touch, every kiss…every taste. It was exhilarating. Her lips parted allowing her tongue to just explore his own. He paid attention to every inch of her body, leaving nothing untouched. Well, almost nothing. Keeping one hand on his head, she kept him in place. She burned in anticipation for him, her desire only growing as his hand left a burning trail up her leg. The sensations threatened to overwhelm her. But no, she’d come her to use him, and since they were under no false pretences that was exactly what she was going to do.
Her breath hitched when his hands reached the hem of her shorts pulling them downwards. This was really happening. And there was really nowhere she would rather be than beneath his obviously experienced hands. Well actually on second thoughts…helping him pull off her pants she broke the contact of his lips with her skin. She had some ideas of her own. Sitting up, Raven moved around him, gently putting her hands on his bare chest and pushing him down to the bed. Swapping their positions so that she was straddling him, a bare leg on either side of his. There. That’s better. Biting her lip she slowly leaned forward, kissing his chest, licking and tasting her way downwards. Lower and lower until she reached just below his belly button. It was an obvious tease, to get him just as hot and bothered as he’d made her. No way Bellamy Blake would best her. Taking her fingers, she slowly moved them up the front of his pants, pausing over his growing arousal for a moment until she reached the hem. A smirk on her lips. Without a word she moved her legs over to one side and pulled at his trousers. She wouldn’t be the only one naked here for much longer.

She took a bite before saying another word. It was…okay. It didn’t leave her feeling nauseous at least and that was a pretty big win for her considering her current state. But it didn’t satisfy her. Nowhere near. If anything it just made her all the more aware of the growing craving. For what? She had no idea. It was so frustrating she could almost throw something…almost. But Raven didn’t want Bellamy to feel like she was kind of safety hazard to be around. And that meant keeping the throwing of objects in the general vicinity of his head, to a minimum. At least she'd try.
“Thanks Bellamy.” She said with an obviously disappointed expression. “You’re too good to me.” This time she did a better job of masking her disappointment with a smile. It was more genuine this time because she meant it. Bellamy had really stepped up over these last few months, providing her with the support he’d promised. Only it was more than that. He, was more than that. And Raven would forever be grateful to have him in her life. Rolling forward, she finally sat up, setting the plate aside and just looking down. Her body had already changed so much in such a short amount of time, it almost scared her, especially over the last couple of months.
“Uugh, look at me. I’m the size of the damn ark.” Glancing up at Bellamy, she quickly looked down at her growing belly once more. “Don’t look at me.” Unable to keep eye contact, Raven just rubbed her belly, barely remembering what it used to look like. “See, you can’t even look at me!” She practically yelled at him, forcing herself to stand up, turning away from Bellamy. She was fully aware of how ridiculous she was being but that didn’t mean she could stop. Sighing, she stopped pacing and turned around. "I'm sorry." Instead wondering just why it mattered so goddamn much what Bellamy thought of the way her body looked anyway.

Raven groaned in frustration. This stupid machine was only giving her dead ends. The firewalls alone were going to take too long to crack let alone the time it would take to actually start looking for the program. It was time A.L.I.E didn’t have and Raven was not about to return empty handed. Not after everything she’d done for her. This was the least Raven could do for and dammit she refused to stop until she figured it out. The absence of the pain that used to radiate from her hip down to her leg constantly reminding her of what she owed the woman in red.
Whatever it takes. Even if that meant facing a potentially uncomfortable situation. But Raven knew it had to be done. After the millionth attempt at cracking the code she knew deep down it needed an engineer’s mind to work. And it had to, not only be the best but be someone Raven knew well enough to trust and help them. “Wick, do you have a second?” She asked, leaning her head on the frame of the entrance to his workspace. An area she’d avoided since…well since they’d last spoken. It hadn’t been an easy conversation, but Raven didn’t want to think about that right now. She needed to keep her mind concentrated on the task at hand, no matter how awkward it might become. Wick was her best shot, and she would make sure he helped them. By any means necessary. The City of Light was all that mattered now. It was her job – nay, duty – to make this work. It had to work.

Raven kneaded her hand into her leg, as she continued to work on how to implement the plans of fortifying the walls of Arkadia. They would need stronger foundations, maybe if they could just use…goddamit. Standing, she sighed again in frustration. The pain was getting worse and there was nothing she could do about it. Or at least nothing she would do about it. Distracting herself with work usually helped but today that just didn’t cut it. Leaving her workspace, she took a walk, heading to the perimeter of Arkadia to clear her head and maybe give her a better idea of what she was working with.
She ended up in a small secluded spot of the wall, a hard thing to come by, and inspected the craftsmanship. Perhaps they could use wiring to create a better skeletal foundation? No that was stupid, it would only interfere with their attempts to expand. What if they just welded the… “DAMN IT!” Sitting on a rock she stared daggers at her bum leg, removing her brace to just let it breath. As if that would help. This was getting ridiculous. Her work was all she had left, and Raven was not about to let this damn thing take that away from her too. Burying her head in her arms she tried to take deep breaths and ignore the pain. It was something Abby had mentioned, and it helped sometimes, though she’d never admit it. Only now it didn’t seem to be doing the trick. Throwing her brace to the ground Raven let out another groan of frustration, pausing only when she heard the sound of someone approaching. Great, what now?
