You've Been Blaked
Don't pull your punches. I'm going to push my punches as far as my fist will extend.
O had been waiting for her brother in the hall, and when she heard a scream she moved toward the door, using her shoulder to push it open. It hadn't been locked but if it had she would have kicked it down. "BELL!" Seeing the sight before her, she pushed forward and tackled the guardsmen, once again using her shoulder to catch the other girl around the middle and send them both away from her brother. Scrambling to get on top, O fisted her hands in the girl's hair and used the grip to pick her head up and force it back on the floor.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy wasn't entirely sure what sort of reaction he expected from Braeden. He just knew that it wasn't going to be a good one. He could get hit in the face, or yelled at . . . or both. Which was what had happened. She screamed before lunging at him. He obviously wasn't going to hit her back or do anything other than forcefully try to stop her attack -- even though he deserved it. Perhaps that made him immediately unsuccessful in the attempt, though it didn't matter. For within seconds, Octavia was in the room, tackling Braeden. Bellamy reacted quickly, more concerned about what Octavia would do to Braeden rather than the other way around. Octavia was one of the strongest -- if not the strongest -- warrior here. She would seriously kick some ass.
He pulled his sister off Braeden, holding her back by standing directly in front of her, his hands going to her wrists to restrain her movements. "O, O, it's alright," he said. He was always grateful to her for proteecting him, defending him, but he didn't want them to fight over this. Over him. "Come on," he urged, moving her toward the door. He knew that Braeden most probably didn't want to be in his company right now -- which was entirely understandable. So he wasn't going to further antagonize her by staying here.
He managed to get Octavia out of the room though paused at the thresshld of the door. He then turned his head to looked at Braeden. "I'm sorry." He hadn't meant for things to happen this way, he hadn't meant to hurt her and all those other people who died and the loved ones who mourned them. With that final sincere statement, he turned to exit the room, knowing he would see her soon but also was aware that she would need some time to calm down . . . not expecting her forgiveness anytime soon, if ever.

His feral bitch sister had attacked her! Braeden pushed to a stand while Bellamy was pushing his sister out of the room. She wasn't bitter enough to do it, but she really wanted to threaten to have her shocklashed--as was the punishment was attacking a guard. "I'm sorry." "We're done...you and I are done." She told him, as he was at the door. They were done. Forever. She would wished she had raised the alarm that day. She wished she hadn't gotten him prompted to her effing boss now! She wished she never let him crawl in her bed!
One thing she didn't do, was tell anyone. It was the only thing she didn't do, because what she did was make everything harder for him. She made it harder for him to get Miller assigned to him, because she was 'concerned' with his lack of training--she was sure it wouldn't keep Miller out of the running for long because of who his father was but she wanted to hurt him. If he wanted to use any of the underage kids he was down here with, she made sure they weren't given weapons, but were supervised by someone with weapons--which was also logical thinking and not just bitterness.
It was a few days later that she was on watch--or well in charge of the night watch, which meant staying up all night and checking in with them every now and then. She was currently sitting by a fire, and staring in too it. She'd just made rounds and wouldn't need to do it again for an hour. She hated the waiting, and not doing anything because it let her think. Mostly about her father. He had spoken so highly of Bellamy once, and Bellamy had been the reason he died. Been the reason over 300 people had died. She had been staring into the flames for a while, and when she finally blinked she felt a few small tears fall down--which annoyed her. With a huff of annoyance she wiped them away and then looked around her.
Apparently her job was all she had now.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT She told him she was done. They were done. He understood. This was not of course what he wanted, but he fully understood and had to accept it. If the situation were reversed, he'd feel the same way. He made his way out, checking that Octavia was alright and explained what was happening. That she had been upset with him about something, rightfully so. He wasn't going to defend his actions. There was nothing he could say to make it better.
He spent the next little while checking on the others, making sure they were alright, and also checking their food supply. They had enough food to carry them over for the next couple of days. They were going to need to start storing up for winter, and had found certain fruits that people were working on a way to sustain. Among them, a rare delight called avocado. Bellamy had tried it for the first time and it had been delicious. Just one of the many examples of the kinds of foods available to them, should they look in the right place.
The next few days consisted of the same thing. Hunting, gathering, scouting, checking the wounded . . . but there was something that occurred on one particular day. Bellamy had been appointed to the council, and when he had explained who he wanted at his side, they seemed to already know and gave an explanation. Braeden. She must have told them.
They informed Bellamy that it may take a little time to look into this, and Bellamy told them bluntly that they would either approve of his choice, or there was no point of being on the council for him. He was here to lead his people, and if he couldn't have them by his side . . . then he wouldn't accept any official title of authority. Miller had also been disappointed and that was what made Bellamy want to figure out whether this was the only time, or if something more would happen. He knew it was a way to get back at him.
Just as always, sleep eluded the older Blake sibling, and he found himself wandering around the camp, deciding to take a shift guarding the gate. But he saw someone else. Even at this distance, he could see the tears on her cheek, though had no intention of bringing attention to them. He quietly approached her, watching her for a moment before he spoke. "Don't take it out on them," he stated. It wasn't a demand, it wasn't a request. It was just . . . a statement.
"Do whatever you want to me, but don't make them pay the price." Miller's position being slowed was hurting Miller as well -- and in turn, his father. "Believe me when I say, that I have to live with what I did. And that is the utlimate punishment." He didn't know if she would understand. But he wanted her to know that he lived with the guilt and pain of his actions . . . and whatever she did to him, was nothing compared to the internal agony he felt every second of every day.

"Don't take it out on them," She heard a voice, and Braeden inhaled a deep breath, wishing like hell he stayed away. She wanted him to hurt, and so she wouldn't make things easy for him. "Do whatever you want to me, but don't make them pay the price." He didn't know what he was saying, because right now she wanted to shot him. "Believe me when I say, that I have to live with what I did. And that is the ultimate punishment." It wasn't enough. It would never be enough. He had done this! And for what?!
"Walk away from me," She demanded quietly but she still had not looked at him. She didn't want to look at him. She pushed to a stand, and stared straight ahead. She couldn't look at him. She couldn't see the face of someone she had assumed was her friend, knowing they had done something so stupid that it had gotten hundreds of people killed! She hoped he lived with it! Braeden opened her mouth to tell him she wished he was dead, but she couldn't say it, and so she just stood there.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT She told him to walk away. Which was fine. He supposed he didn't expect any other kind of reaction. He turned to leave, taking a few steps but then paused, slightly turning his head though he was looking more off to the side than at her directly. "I won't let anyone hurt them." Including her. It wasn't a threat persay, but nor was it a reassurance. He was not going to play this game with her. He was not going to let her lash out at the people he cared about because she was angry with it. She could take it out on him if she wanted to, but only him. Not Miller. Not Octavia. None of his people. He wouldn't stand for it. She had every right to be angry, but with him. And no one else should have to pay the price.
With those words -- perhaps of warning, perhaps a reflection of his protective nature and stance when it came to what was left of the 100 -- he proceeded to walk away, making his way to the gate to join the others who were on guard for he night. It was a couple of days until they had organized a hunting party. They were to go out together, staying in a large group and then once they crossed the bridge, branching off into pairs or groups of three.
They were heading out early in the morning so they could be back before dark. Bellamy instructed them not to use the guns for shooting the animals; to use the spears and blades so that they could save the ammo for when they actually needed it. He himself was equipped with a spear and an axe that was tucked away. He pulled the strap of his pack over his shoulder, and the gun over his other shoulder. He didn't fail tonotice that among the group, but Braeden. The two of them hadn't talked, and he wasn't going to delve deep into a conversation with any of them either. He just walked ahead of them, intending to get them all to the bridge.

He thankfully walked away, making sure she didn't have to say anything else. He had power over her now, thanks to her putting him on the council, but she wasn't going to give him more then that. It was clear that he didn't care about the whole group--he only fought for what was best for him. Him and the delinquents. Because he was one of them, she reminded herself.
It was a few days later that she was given the order to go with the hunting party. Her aim was one of the best, and with the group breaking off into smaller groups she was needed. Braeden didn't greet nor speak to Bellamy while they readied the group. She tightened the backpack to her, and her two hand guns were tucked behind her. She also had a rifle that she would carry with her as they walked.
When the group left out, Braeden brought up the rear, making sure no one feel behind. The fact that it gave a lot of space between her and Blake was an added bonus. When they got to the bridge she moved in closer to the head, to find out who was going in what group. Looking at the bridge, she wondered how they hell anyone trusted it to walk over--it wasn't exactly looking up to code.

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy was quiet for the duration of the journey. He didn't have much to say to anyone, but furthermore, he was remaining focus on their surroundings. He no longer knew where they stood with the Grounders, so wasn't about to put an ambush past them. Plus, all sorts of weird creatures lurked about. At least they didn't have to worry about acid fog anymore. Although . . . it was quite the price to pay for that one. When they reached the bridge, Bellamy stopped. It didn't look stable. It had been re-constructed after the bomb blast, but it didn't look like it was strong enough to support their weight.
"We have to go around," he informed the others. It would take a bit longer, but it would be safer. "What for?" One of the guardsmen demanded, clearly not wanting to take the longer route. It would cut back their hunt by at least fourty five minutes, but safety was priority. "It's not strong enough to support our weight. Come on." Bellamy had turned around to face the group when the impatient guardsman pushed past him. "It's fine. It can hold us." But as he stepped forward, Bellamy could already hear the weakened material. He wordlessly, lunged forward to grab the Guardsman and shoved him back to the rest of the group onto the ground, though not in enough time to get his own self to safety, for the bridge began to collapse under Bellamy's feet, and he felt gravity pull him down.

"We have to go around," Good. She didn't like the idea of walking over it, and she wasn't about to talk to him to speak up. At least, not unless she was about to walk over it. "What for?" Freaking, Bellick. "It's not strong enough to support our weight. Come on." "It's fine. It can hold us." She was near the edge when he began walking, and she could see it begin to break under his weight--really easy! "Trap." She whispered to herself, knowing that this had to be what it was!
Bellamy pulled Bellick back, but ended up falling over the edge himself. Instinct alone is what had her moving forward when Bellick was falling; and she shifted her target to grab Bellamy's hand as he started the fall! The weight from him falling brought her to the ground, and she began falling over the edge too--though it seemed Bellick caught her feet!
And there there were . . . suspended high above the water below, with her men holding her feet and both her hands on Bellamy's one. Her gun long gone! That was when she heard shooting. "What's Happening?" She yelled up there, unable to turn and look without dropping Bellamy! An arrow flew by her, and she realized what was happening! A trap! Her eyes flew to Bellamy's, just as she felt Bellick's hands go slack and they both begin falling down . . .

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Everything happened quickly. Bellamy was falling until he felt someone grab hold of him, who was being held by someone else. "Let go." Because it would help ease the weight. This scenario felt a bit similar, when he was holding onto Mel and being told her let her go. He hadn't then. And he knew deep down that Braeden wouldn't either. Still. It was what he deserved, and now was her chance to let that vengeance out. But she didn't. Not until whoever was holding her let her go as well and the two of them went crashing down into the water.
It was a rough landing, but Bellamy was not unfamiliar with the other. He moved his arms to at least get himself to the surface as they had a hard landing and go in deep. He could see the light of the surface however and soon enough, his head came up as he gasped for air. "Braeden!" He called, not seeig her anywhere nearby. His head went in all directions to see any trace of her because he concluded that she was somewhere beneath the water. He took a deep breath and went back under, wading through the heavy currents to find any trace of her.
He wasn't sure how much time had passed before he moved up to the surface again, doing another check to see if she was there. Nothing. He went back in, this time, with a little more luck because soon enough, he saw her. He hurriedly swam toward her and wrapped an arm around her waist, using her other arm to bring them up above the water level. He gasped for air again, keeping a firm grip on her as he swam to land. Once there, he moved her onto it before climbing up as well, his eyes quickly searching her to see if she was conscious or injured.

"Let go." Apart of her really wanted to have dropped him, but the other part of her would not let another get hurt when she could save them. However, it didn't matter, because one moment she was holding him and the next they were both falling. It felt like it took forever to fall, and the water felt like she had crashing into a wall! The breath left her as the water--more then she had ever seen before in one place--rushed over her head! She had never seen so much water! Had been had it rush over her!
Braeden tried to move to push herself one way or the other but she didn't know which way was up! She was fairly certain she was upside down but she didn't know for sure! When she tired to open her eyes it was burning, but she kept them open! And only saw nothingness . . . . Water every which way and only blackness beyond that. The pain from hitting the water made it hard to see, and the edges of her vision grew dark. This was how she was going to die!

whatever THE HELL WE WANT It only took Bellamy a second or two to realize that Braeden wasn't conscious. He rushed over to her, his fingers going to her neeck to feel for a pulse. It was there. Good! He tilted her head back a little and breathed into her mouth. He then put his hands together and started pressing on her chest, giving the appropriate compressions and ensuringn he didn't bruise or break her ribs. "Come on," he urged in a low voice. He then leaned forward to breathe into her mouth again, giving as much air as he could before pressing on her chest again and again.
He felt his body starting to fill with a fear. The fear of losing her. He couldn't. He couldn't lose anyone else. It would destroy him -- especially her. Losing someone he was close to. She had told him that they were done, but that didn't change how he felt about her. She was one of his oldest friends and their past made her especially close. "Come on, Braeden," he urged again, breathing into her mouth once more. As soon as he pulled away, she started coughing out the water and just as quckly as the fear had spread over him, it was washed away with a massive wave of relief. He tilted her body to the side a bit so that she could get the water out of her lungs. "You're ok," he assured her, knowing she may not feel it. But she was. She was alive. That was all that mattered.

Everything was dark, and cold . . . . and then the next moment she was opening her eyes and everything burned! Waster was being coughed up which made her pipes burn, her body felt freezing on the outside, and she was shaking from it. Her lungs burned and hurt from the need to suck in air once the water was pushed out. ON her side, she could only see the shore, and wasn't sure what was around her, but she only knew that she had to breathe! The first few breaths hurt like hell but with each one after it was growing easier.
It was then her mind came back to the water, and the fall, and the attack! Bellamy? Twisting she looked back at him, anger that she had felt panicked at the thought of him dead after everything between them. Once she saw him and the feeling of panic eased she felt only the anger. The bitterness of a friend lost, and why. Still, she was too weak right now to fight him. She was still working on catching her breath. She also knew she should thank him, because clearly he just saved her ass--but she couldn't bring herself to thank him for anything. Not right now. Not after her father.
After a few moments she was able to sit up. Braeden looked up at the cliff that they'd fallen from and then at him. "No wonder that hurt." It was all she had right now. She was too . . . . everything right now to fight or ignore him, or hate him. She could only think about moving forward, and getting back to her men. They were under attack! She needed to get . . . . wait a effing second. "Where's my gun?"

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy watched her for a few moments, though when she started talking, he knew she was alright. She wasn't severely disoriented, which was especially revealed when she questioned the whereabouts of her gun. "Fell in the water when you did," he explained to her. They were weaponless, but far from helpless. While always carried a small dagger on him for emergencies, it would be far more helpful to have a gun on them. There was no point dwelling though. All they could do was move forward.
"When you're ready to go, we'll start heading back." He doubted they would make it before dark at this point; they had strayed way far off course. It was going to take time, and traveling at night wouldn't be safe. They would need to find a water source at some point too. Bellamy ran his hand through his wet hair as he stood up, assuming that Braeden wasn't wanting to waste time either. "Come on," he urged. She still hated him, and it was understandable. She should hate him. A lot of people should. He wasn't going to try to make up for it or overly explain. All this meant was that their trek back was going to be awkward and tense.
