There hadn't been much time to talk. At the summit with Arkadia becoming the thirteenth clan to some of the Arkers breaking in to tell them it was a trap and then learning that Mount Weather was gone. Things happened rather quickly after that but the moment they were allowed to go back to Arkadia, after Abby expressed her fears that Arkadia might be attacked next, they were on their way. Clarke remained behind, much as she expected though it hurt that her daughter chose Lexa over them. But she couldn't dwell on that. Not again.
They'd stopped for a break and for refueling even though they were on a schedule. Riding in a vehicle for hours without stopping for a break wasn't healthy and despite the looming of potential danger, Abby was adamant of their breaks. She'd already hopped out of the truck, gazing around the forest still in awe. She doubted she'd ever get over the incredible nature of earth, having grown up in space surrounded by metal. "Bellamy, help me with refill the water bottles." She called to him, not caring if he was doing something else. Striding forward, she grabbed what he needed before heading towards the nearby river.
She waited until she was close enough to the rushing waters, looking to make sure they were alone before kneeling to start filling up the bottles. There was a reason why she pulled him aside and she'd get to that in a moment. Let him breathe a little first before she dove right in. She knew how much he cared for Gena and finding out the mountain was blown up with Gena inside? Abby was not going to let him suffer alone. He needed to know that she was there for him and even if he didn't want to talk about it, she was there. He'd been there for her plenty of times and returning the favor was not because she felt like she had to. Bellamy was family to her, like a son and his health and well being was something she cared about. Bellamy Blake ((ooc// hope it's okay!))

Bellamy felt numb. Ever since Raven informed him of the news . . . he felt emotions that he thought he could never feel. Gena was dead. So many were dead. Because of him. Because of the trust he had placed in Echo. A Grounder. He had thought that the two of them developed a rapport in Mount Weather; a mutual respect for one another. So he had believed. Stupidly. Foolishly. Naively. He had believed her, and she, just as all other grounders did . . . betrayed them.
Even Pike had been willing to Bellamy, vouching for her, placing his own trust in the woman . . . and she led them right into a trap. Mount Weather was gone, as were their people who lived inside it. Gena. She was Bellamy's first partner, and the reluctance of developing romantic relationships had been due to his feelings of not deserving it. As well as the failures he'd shown in being able to protect them; being the one responsible for their deaths. Gena, was added to that list. It would seem that he was cursed; that anyone who dared bestow their love and affections on him . . . was doomed.
The pain of Gena's death, amplified by Clarke's refusal to come home. They needed her, and yet she stayed. Needlessly, she stayed. How many times could he beg her to come back? How many times could his eyes plead with her, telling her how much he needed her. Met only with rejection. Uncaring stubbornness. He would risk everything for her, only to be returned with empty hands. He was done. Done with whatever this one sided relationship continuously proved to be.
It hurt too damn much, and he couldn't bare any more pain. Bellamy had remained silent the entire journey back. They had to stop to refill and take a short break before continuing back. Bellamy stepped out of the vehicle, hearing Abby call his name to help. He walked toward her, rifle in hand as there were still threats and dangers lurking about. But he listened to her, not needing to say anything as they walked toward a river. His eyes surveyed the area, making sure there was no lurking danger that would unexpectadly befall them.
Hand gripping the weapon before letting it hang on the strap, over his shoulder. He then crouched down next to Abby, taking hold of one of the water packs, and proceeding to fill it from the river. What was there to say? What could he possibly say in this moment? Surely, it was no coincidence that she had asked him to accompany her. But he had no idea how to strike a conversation . . . truth be told, he was using every ounce of strength to keep himself composed.
Dreading the return to Arkadia. Everytime he'd returned from a mission, Gena would be waiting there with open arms. Waiting to embrace him; her beautiful smile adding a light to his life that had always been missing. Her presence a constant comfort. An aura of serenity exuding her. And now, she was gone. He would be returning to an empty home, having to pack her things and then . . . only then, could he truly mourn her. An act that he doubted he would be able to stop anytime soon.
