@bryanbryanbryan DATE TIME. Bryan's answer was a perfect one. With no plans, they could have dinner that night and Isaiah would be lying if he said he hadn't been hoping for that. He felt so keen to see the other guy again, in a context that wasn't work and while he probably would have liked to see him somewhere that was a little more private than the mess hall, there wasn't much of a choice when it came to meals. If things went well they could probably find somewhere else after to spent some time alone but... Isaiah didn't need to be thinking about that yet. His cheeks reacted to the thought, heating up and draining a lot of the confidence he gained in having Bryan ask him out. He felt shy again but he was mostly used to that feeling, it wasn't rare.
"Free to plan a second date as well?" Isaiah teased but his voice came out a lot quieter and he was unable to keep his eyes on Bryan's. This was what Isaiah felt he sucked at when it came to dating. Trying to flirt and be suggestive and honestly, just trying to talk confidently around someone he had budding feelings for. But confirming a time and place, that was a lot easier thing to do and Isaiah managed to look back at Bryan, chuckling softly. "Mess hall at six sounds great." The smile on his face felt like it was never going to fade now and Isaiah could almost be certain that it wouldn't fade between now and when he saw Bryan again, where he would undoubtedly want to smile brighter. "If you don't turn up, I'll assume you're lost." Isaiah laughed again before pressing the button to call the lift and saying goodbye as it arrived.
It felt like forever before six o'clock came along and Isaiah was finally able to see Bryan again. He had completed some paperwork way quicker than he should have and gotten back to his room in time to shower and change into nicer clothes before meeting Bryan, wanting to look his best for the date. It had at least been a few months since Isaiah had been on one and the excitement running through his body really had kept the smile on his face. When he arrived at the mess hall, he arrived a little bit early and waited near the entrance for Bryan. His eyes were already on one of the smaller tables around, hoping that him and Bryan could at least get a little bit of privacy in the busy room. "Hey again," he said as Bryan walked in, grabbing his attention. Isaiah felt a small flutter in his stomach at the sight of him. |

Bryan couldn't seem to stop smiling the rest of the afternoon and into early evening. A couple of his friends from Farm Station teased him about it, knowing something was up, but Bryan wasn't ready to talk about it yet. At least not until after the first date with Isaiah didn't go down in flames. He didn't expect it to, though, since Isaiah had tried to joke about planning a second date already... and then seemed to get shy about it. Bryan had simply said, "yeah," and let it go, rather than push.
He went back to his place and showered (God, he'd missed showers for the months he'd been on the ground before now!) and picked out something nice to wear. They hadn't offered him anything fancy, but compared to the tatty clothes options on the Ark, he felt like he actually looked nice. For him, anyway. By the time he got to the mess hall, glad he'd only gotten turned around once on his way, Isaiah was waiting there for him, and his stomach was fluttering. "Hey," he said in greeting. Damn it, he forgot to see if he could get some flowers, nicer than the horseradish flowers. Maybe that could be date number two. "I didn't get lost," he added, stopping to stand a few feet in front of Isaiah with probably a stupid smile on his face. "Uh, shall we?" he said, gesturing into the mess hall.Tag: Isaiah Riggs

@bryanbryanbryan <3 Isaiah was overjoyed at seeing Bryan. The clothes he was in much nicer than what he had been wearing for work and his smile so bright that Isaiah couldn't help but smile even brighter back, not caring that he probably looked at least a bit stupid doing so. It was obvious that Bryan was seriously treating this like a date, jut like Isaiah was. Isaiah was relieved at that and it just made him look forward to the night ahead even more, if that was possible. It probably wasn't possible to be more excited than Isaiah was then, it felt like was a current running through his body, making him alert and ready and so darn nervous at the same time. But at least he could laugh normally, which he did when Bryan commented that he hadn't gotten lost. "I'm glad about that," Isaiah said, completely honest in his words.
It wouldn't have been a good night if Bryan got lost and missed the date. Isaiah would have likely went looking for him but Mount Weather was a lot bigger than it seemed. When Bryan spoke again, gesturing into the mess hall, Isaiah gave a slight nod in reply. "Yeah," he said as he started inside the room. He moved slowly, letting Bryan catch up to him as he wanted to walk beside him. As they walked up to where the food was, Isaiah glanced over at Bryan with his continuous smile. "Planning on trying something new tonight?" he asked, the memory of the apple that Bryan had tried earlier brought to the front of his mind. Isaiah wouldn't mind getting to see Bryan try something else and seeing the expression on his face at discovering another great thing. That... felt a little bit weird to Isaiah, to think that, but honestly, it wasn't like seeing adults try new foods was something that ever happened. Especially not simple foods.
Isaiah grabbed his own plate of food, going for something both nice and familiar, and something that was not going to be messy. The last thing he wanted was sauce stains on his shirt, he was already feeling nervous enough about the date. Once Bryan had gotten his food as well, Isaiah led them over to the small table that he had chosen earlier, glad to see that it hadn't been taken by anyone else. It was probably about the most private that they could get in the busy mess hall and that was probably what they wanted for a date, at least Isaiah thought it was the best thing for a date. Quickly placing his food onto the table, Isaiah went to pull out Bryan's chair, knowing there was a blush in his cheeks as he did that. "Have a seat," he said, smile still on his face as he looked at Bryan, even with the added colour to his cheeks. He waited for Bryan to sit down before he did so himself. |
