whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy had not been ordered to do this, but he knew that he needed to. Despite the Mountain Men no longer being a threat, there was still the one of reapers. So he had agreed to take the patrol in the wooded area surrounding Mount Weather. The facility was a place that they did supply runs on. Bellamy had managed to avoid some but not all. Returning had never been easy. But whether he was there or Arkadia, the memories of his actions, the genocide he had committed, would forever haunt him.
It would forever be there when he closed his eyes, when he was awake . . . every moment of his life. The blood of nearly a thousand people drowning him, and the guilt, suffocating him. That was his punishment for all he had done. Death was the only escape and he wasn't any where near self inflicting that. But each day the burden grew more difficult to bear, and the one person who he thought he could rely on . . . had left. There was a relief in patrolling alone, sometimes needing time to himself. But there was also the downside, as he was not able to escape his own thoughts.
But in this moment, another distraction immediately caught his attention. He held his gun up, aimed at something -- or someone -- in the near distance. He cuold see part of the back of their head against a tree. With his gun still aimed, Bellamy cautiously approached the figure. It could be Reapers, but it could also be Grounders. Just because there was a ceasefire, didn't mean that there was no lasting tension between their groups. Taking a deep breath, he turned to face the figure, immediately lowering his gun when he saw who it was.
"Oh my god," he breathed, collasping to his knees in front of her. His hand went to her neck, brushing away her hair to feel for a pulse. It was there. Just barley, weak, but it was there. "Fox?" He asked, a breathless tone of worry in his voice as he looked at her. "Hey," he said gently, his hand now going to her cheek, to feel what warmth he could, and offer warmth to her as well. "Can you hear me? It's Bellamy." They had thought her dead. They'd lost others to the Mountain Men, to the drilling. Fox had been assumed among them but here she was. And Bellamy could not bear the thought of losing her twice. He had saved her once, having shot both guards in the head . . . and then lost her. He would never forgive himself if he failed her twice.

Fox had not known that she had crawled out of the godforsaken trash bin and crawled to safety. Her heart was barely beating and she was slowly losing consciousness. Tsing had taken most of her marrow, the pain had been excruciating and had pushed her to the point of unconsciousness before. Her screams could be heard throughout the medical unit. She should have been dead at this point. But then, most people didn't know Fox. She was a fighter. She wouldn't give up. She had held onto the hope that Jasper would get her out of whatever was going to happen. But it hadn't happened and she had been left for dead. Her eyes lightly fluttered, but the strength was gone and the best she could do was let out a quiet moan for Bellamy. There was still blood where the drills had taken the precious marrow that should have taken her life. Her eyes fluttered again as she heard Bellamy's voice. She had not recognized it yet as it sounded so very distant to her. But then she felt a warm hand on her cheek. She let out a soft moan as she responded to him. But, she could do no more than that. She was starting to face and she was getting cold. Too cold. The numbing cold that would soon set in to take her. She fought to stay conscious as she heard his voice. Was he going to save her?
She was not sure exactly where she was and the horror of what she experienced ran through her mind like a movie stuck on replay. She struggled again to push the thoughts from her mind. The one thing that she was able to control, was her thoughts. Though at the moment even they were hard to control. She could feel his warm hand against her cheek and tried so hard to say his name. She was not aware that her head even moved toward his touch as she had no control over that. But her whisper was soft as she finally spoke.
"Bellamy...you came back for me...."
But as soon as she spoke, she passed completely out, her head lolling of to the side. She continued to breathe lightly and her heartbeat was still there.
She had always looked up to Bellamy and she had even had a crush on him. He had saved her once before and if she was awake and could actually hug him, she would have. Somehow there was a will to live again, inside of her. She could feel it welling up even though she was unable to let him know. He had come back for her! Even if it was by mistake that he had found her. She saw it her own way. Bellamy had come to get her. He would leave her behind. Bellamy Blake

whatever THE HELL WE WANT "Bellamy... you came back for me."
The words made his heart ache, made the guilt so strong within him. He would have, had he known. He would never have left Mount Weather if he'd had even an inkling of a feeling that she was alive. But she had been . . . disposed of. The mere term in his mind making him inwardly cringe. "I'm sorry it took me so long," he said in a low voice, unsure if she even heard him because she soon faded. He could tell by the way her head fell and of course her eyes closing. His fingers returned to her neck, feeling for the weakened pulse. Relief once more, that he didn't find her just to lose her again. That she was still alive, and he wasn't going to waste another second. He scooped her up in his arms, carrying her all the way back to camp, keeping her close to him, and not stopping until he walked through the gates of Arkadia.
He called for medical help, making his way to the designated area and setting her down on one of the tables. He briefed those who were helping, giving all that he knew, which wasn't much. They had helped the others who had been drilled . . . but Fox had been left out there much longer. She had already suffered major blood loss. Bellamy refused to stray from her side. Even while they worked, he stood there, making sure he didn't get in the way but ready to help with whatever they may ask of him. He felt responsible for Fox, just like the others. But right now, Fox was his priority. They had lost too many people and he couldn't even begin to process the notion that he had found her, only to bring her here to die. No. That couldn't happen. When they did what they could, telling him that it was now a waiting game to see if she would wake up . . . Bellamy's stubborn refusal to leave her remained in his mind. He pulled up a chair and sat by her side. Waiting. Watching her. Not wanting her to be alone, and whether she could hear him or not, he spoke.
"I told all of you at the dropship, that you were warriors. Fighters." He had worked to empower them, to build their confidence, to make them feel worthy and more than 'expendable' . . . more than worthless lives sent down to die. Bellamy had truly believed those words, and continued to do so. "So don't stop fighting now, Fox." He moved his hand to rest on top of hers. "Don't you dare stop fighting." This world had a way of exhausting them . . . constantly needing to survive rather than being allowed to just live. But he needed her to live. He needed her to fight. To survive this, and all else. Yet all he could do, was offer the words, and keep his hand on hers. Reassurance, that she was not alone. Not anymore.

Fox had not felt him lift her into his arms but she somehow felt the closeness and the warmth of his body as he carried her back to camp. The warmth kept her alive somehow. It seemed like forever that she lay in the dreamless state. She couldn't tell if she were alive or dead. She didn't know how long she had been out. Nor did she remember much after the pain of the drilling. What she did know was that suddenly, she felt pain again as she started to stir. She was healing, but the pain meant to her that she was still alive. She felt Bellamy's hand on hers as her eyes opened and she glanced around. It was then that she saw Bellamy. His hand on hers and his head laying on the table next to her asleep. she wondered how long he had been there and a small smile appeared on her face. She felt her fingers curled around his hand as she glanced around. She saw the medic come over to take her vitals and she watched him a moment. She still didn't have the energy to speak. She could see that they had her hooked up to an IV and when the medic lifted her wrist to take her pulse a soft whimper escaped her. But she didn't cry. For some reason she kept hearing the words "Don't you dare stop fighting.", in her head. She realized that she would not give up. Setting her jaw she let the medic look her over to make sure that she was healing. She would not utter another word of pain out of her mouth.
Bellamy had saved her once before and now he had done it again. She hoped Mount Weather would not hurt anyone else she was lucky that she was alive. A thought suddenly came to her as she was worried about the others. She didn't know what had happened before and wondered how Bellamy had gotten her out of Mount Weather the way that he had. Her eyes went to the medic at first as she glanced around the room.
"The others? Did they.....make it out?"

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy wasn't sure how long he had been in here for, nor the exact moment he had fallen asleep. He was only even aware of it when he heard a voice . . . inquiring about the others. Bellamy slowly opened his eyes, raising his head, keeping his hand where it was so not to lose that contact with Fox. Sleep was a luxury that Bellamy did not find easy. Particularly after Mount Weather. Every time he closed his eyes, he saw their faces. The children. The people who helped them. The only thing that got him through each day, was focusing on the others. Putting his feelings aside for the betterment of the camp and so he could find the ample distractions to make what was now Arkadia, livable and sustainable.
He looked over Fox, relief quickly washing over him in seeing that she was alive. That she was alright; at least physically. "Most of our people did," he answered simply. They had lost a couple to Mount Weather . . . Fox had been included among those they thought they lost. How relieved Bellamy was to be wrong about that. "How are you feeling?" He asked, concern in his voice as he continued to look at her, already planning to get a proper medical update from one of the doctors later.

Fox wanted to sit up. Even so, she noticed that when she tried she didn't have the strength. She was just glad that she was here instead of that awful place. Somehow she wondered if she would start having nightmares. She knew what went on and how horrible they treated people. Almost as if they were animals instead of humans. She hated that. She had not known what had happened to the Mountain people. She had been out of it most of the time. She remembered being taken away and then suddenly she was here. She did remember the pain and the drilling. They hadn't bothered with anesthesia or trying to make it painless. All they cared about was getting what they were after. But, she would not tell anyone what she went through. It was best to put it behind her and try to recover from the emotional part of the whole thing. Her physical would be bad enough. Bellamy had saved her and she owed him that much to be happy. This world didn't offer much in a way of happiness for her or any of them for that matter. They had been left to their own devices and done the best that they could to survive. The though pained her to thing that there could not be happiness in this life. But, then she somehow found some. She was alive. Couldn't she be happy about that. That, Bellamy had saved her. It was then that she made the decision that she wanted to fully recover from the Procedure and, little as she was, she wanted to become a warrior and join Bellamy's guard. Her eyes went back to his as she let her head rest back on the table. "Thank you Bellamy......I......"Her hand gave his a tight squeeze as she was unable to go on. Though to him it must have felt weak. Her strength was not back yet. Tears were burning her eyes as she realized how much Bellamy must care to have saved her again and stayed by her side until she woke up. She didn't want him to go. He had not said anything about leave her side. But, she was still scared in a way, and he seemed to be the biggest protection that she had. One thing for sure, she loved him to pieces. It was then that she spoke to him, begging him to help her. "Will you help me with physical therapy, then help me train. I want to be in your guard and be a warrior, just like you." Bellamy Blake

whatever THE HELL WE WANT Bellamy gave a small nod when she thanked him, feeling the gentle squeeze of her hand that held his. The waves of relief that washed over him still had not ceased. To see her alive and recovering was . . . more than what this cruel world had ever offered them. Nothing came without a price. No life was saved without another lost. But in this case, there was no cost of Fox's survival. He could look at her, without thinking of the hundreds of people he had killed to save. The burden was on him, but looking at her . . . didn't remind him of how many innocent people he had murdered. There was a serenity in that, though with all his misdeeds, it didn't do a hell of a lot. Her question fortunately distracted him as she asked if he could help with physical therapy; train her, to be in the guard as a warrior.
"You were always a warrior," he assured her, wanting her to know that. He believed that of the others. That they were warriors. Fighters. And their strength of heart and resilience, showed that. He placed a great deal of importance on empowering the delinquents, rather than making them feel as worthless as the Ark did when sending them down. "But I can train you," he told her. "If being on the guard is what you want, then we'll make it happen." Other delinquents held position there. Miller, Monroe, Harper. Just to name a few. People that Bellamy trusted; those he could keep close. "But right now, just focus on getting better," he told her. "And I'm gonna be with you, through every step of the way during your recovery." He was not going to abandon her, knowing that with departure of his former co leader . . . had left a void among many of them. Including him.

When Fox heard those words, nothing could keep her down as she forced herself up and then suddenly wrapped her arms around him, hugging him tightly. Though to Bellamy it may seem like a little thing. To her it meant everything. When the medical staff tried to get her to lay back down she shook her head. Bellamy had made her so happy and she was not going to let go for a moment. Her eyes brimmed with tears as she spoke to him now.
"Thank you. That means so much to hear you say that."
When she was tired out she lay back down and glanced at the medic who was now glaring at her with her arms folded. Fox let out a giggle and smiled at her. She knew that the medic was going to tell Abby. But she didn't care. She was so happy to have Bellamy by her side that she couldn't help the action she had done. Though she was now feeling it. Her whole body actually hurt now. She but her bottom lip, but didn't complain. Though the look in her eyes showed something very different. The medic took her vitals immediately and she scowled when she was done when she saw that the heart rate of Fox had gone up. It was s good thing that she didn't know why. Fox would never tell. The pain wasn't what was doing it. But she knew that she had to keep her secret.
She was not happy when she saw the medic pull out a needle and she shook her head. She didn't want her to make her sleep again. She had been sleeping too long now. The medic could see that she was afraid of the needle though and she glanced at Bellamy. She wondered what to do. She knew that a lot had gone on in the Mountain, but she didn't know exactly what to do. She looked to Bellamy to see if she should give Fox the sleep aid. Bellamy Blake

whatever THE HELL WE WANT When Fox say up to hug him, Bellamy immediately returned the embrace, moving his arm to wrap around her from the waist. The familiarity of the embrace something he wouldn't take for granted. The last time they had hugged was after she'd been taken to be drilled. This time however . . . she was safe. Or safer than she was anywhere else. Relief continuing to sweep over him that she had survived and been found. "You're welcome," he said in a low voice, easily heard due to their close proximity.
The hug was brought to an end when the medical staff came to encourage her to get some rest. It was a good idea. She would need it. Though the woman seemed to be looking to him as if he had any sort of medical expertise. "You should get some rest Fox," he encouraged. "I don't think you'll need medicine to get it."
They had to save their resources. And that definitely included whatever medicines they had. "I'll come by tomorrow to check on you." Because he didn't want to disturb her before then. "And can stay here until you fall asleep if you want," he offered, wanting to give her some comfort . . . even though he wasn't even sure his presence had that ability. He had killed so many. And yet, it was all he had to offer. His life was the only thing he could give to the others.

What does the Fox say? Fox was not exactly happy that he needed to leave, but what did she expect? Bellamy was a leader and she did need rest. She couldn't keep him there as much as she wanted him to stay. She felt more comfort when he was there, but she was a big girl and knew that she should be able to stay alone. But she wasn't alone. Not really. She was was back home with her friends. She would be out with them soon enough and Bellamy would be there to help her get back on her feet.
"I guess you are right, Bellamy. I will try and rest. We have plenty of time to train and I will get better. I will be strong again."
She smiled at him and winked, letting him know she would be fine. She reached for his hand to hold while she tried to fall back to sleep. Her thoughts about going out and helping on Bellamy's squad. She knew the adult's might try and stop her, but she was a warrior like Bellamy said and she would act like it. She refused to complain about anything. She was grateful to be alive. To have friends like Bellamy. She loved him to death. She smiled again as she drifted off to sleep as she whispered quietly.
"I love you, Bellamy. You are my hero. My knight in shining armor."
She hadn't realized she said it, but it she had, she would have meant it. He always seemed to show up and save her. She knew he would always be there for her when he could. But, she wanted to be able to take care of herself and not get put into a situation like that again. The thought of always being a damsel in distress was not what she wanted for herself. She could fight right along side of the rest of the delinquents. She would do whatever she needed to to get well.
She thinks the wold of him. LOL template by Sammy @ Adox 2.0
