The decision between a common room and her apartment had her on the fence. If they went to a common room then they would at least be forced to be civil with one another. They couldn't argue over the food or medicine or anything related to that. They would be forced to simply discuss their project, which was probably for the best anyway. But she also knew that common areas were often filled with kids and teenagers, used as a lounge to hang out in. Nina would just get annoyed with all of the talking and she was already in a fairly annoyed mood. She heard Bellamy ask where they were going but she kept walking instead of stopping and falling into step with him. She had half a mind to go in the direction of his apartment, just to see if he would freak out at her. But she decided that would only make working together even more difficult and she really didn't want to prolong this longer than necessary.
"Well we certainly aren't going to your apartment," she said with a roll of her eyes. He couldn't see her roll her eyes but she hoped her tone would convey it. "I was thinking we could go to mine if that's alright," she said. "My mom is at school still and my dad is probably working. Trust me, we can leave if he's there." She had no desire to see her father because Nina knew she would just get into another yelling match with him. And without her mother there to referee, there was no telling how bad it would get.

you think YOU'RE GUARD MATERiAL Bellamy could hear it in her tone. The sarcasm. A joke. Which, it may seem to her . . . but compromising his family's safety was no joke to him. Granted, there was no way she could have known that but still . . . she had walked in, as if she owned the place. And that, was something that Bellamy had reacted on. "That's fine," Bellamy agreed when she suggested her place. "I won't barge in." His own little jab to the past encounter because hey, if she could be a sarcastic asshole, then so could he.
He listened to her explain that her mom was at school at her dad was working . . . that they could leave when he was there. "Why, he doesn't approve of you bringing friends over." More sarcasm. A suggestive bit to the term 'friend'. Though Bellamy was obviously not meaning it like that. He really didn't care about the reason that she suggested leaving when her dad got there. It wasn't his business. "Whatever works," he said casually, continuing to follow her lead though he had learned where she lives from the last time they had gone to it. Under totally different circumstances.

A scoff left her lips at his comment about barging in. Well, it was a mix between a scoff and a chuckle, but Nina felt no need to differentiate between the two. She had a feeling that their 'relationship' or lack thereof would be a mix of sarcastic comments and hostile tension. Neither sounded appealing but Nina was always quick with the sarcastic comments, and it appeared that Bellamy wasn't terribly slow in that department either. Another comment fell from his lips, as if to only reiterate her previous thought. Turning to toss a glare at him, Nina picked up on his underlying tones. "You don't exactly strike my fancy," she said. Turning a corner, Nina walked towards the door to her apartment. She unlocked it and stepped inside, leaving the door open for Bellamy to follow her.
Dropping her bag to the floor, Nina walked around the coffee table and down the hall so she could grab the book they would probably need. They hardly brought books to class, but this one had been assigned with this specific class. It was only for assignments like this that required it. Walking back into the living room, book in hand, Nina sat down on the couch. "Let's just make this as quick and painless as possible," Nina said as she opened the book and began leafing through the pages. "I don't want to be here as much as you do." Because she still felt annoyed with him for taking her act of kindness as an act of manipulation. If she wasn't so stubborn, she would try to kill him with kindness. But she was stubborn and she was beyond frustrated with his lack of logic, at least in her eyes.

you think YOU'RE GUARD MATERiAL Bellamy suppressed an eye roll, ignoring her remark about striking her fancy. Thank god. He didn't want to strike her fancy. They were partners by force right now and Bellamy just wanted to get this over and done with so that they could go their own separate ways. And he hoped, that despite them being in the same program . . . they wouldn't have to cross paths with each other so frequently again. He still didn't like the fact that she had stolen for him. It made him feel uneasy and distrusting. When she walked inside her apartment, he followed, closing the door behind him.
"First thing you said that I actually agree with," he stated bluntly when she commented on making this as quick and painless as possible. With that, he sat down next to her on the couch, enough space between them as he too pulled out his book and started going to the assigned pages. "We can still divide up the work," he suggested. "And then meet up again when its done and put it all together." So that it didn't seem like they were doing it on their own. "I'm sure you have better things to do right now." Truthfully, Bellamy hated leaving Octavia for lengthy periods of time. Whatever excuse he could get to be at home, he needed to find it. For her sake.

She ignored his comment about it being the first thing they agreed on. It would have only received a sarcastic comment from her and it wouldn't help the current situation. Sighing, she continued to flip through her book until she found what they needed. They were supposed to pick a war or a battle from before the bombs and were supposed to analyze it. They would have to report on what they did correctly and what they did wrong. And then they would have to propose a better battle strategy. Nina could only imagine that most people were going to pick a battle during the nuclear war. It was predictable and Nina had no intention of doing something like that. Her work was important to her, and if Bellamy wanted an easy way out then he could go screw himself.
"And let you get your way? Not a chance." She was still pissy about him thinking the worst about her. She still didn't understand his problem or why he had such a stick up his ass about her going into his apartment. "Change your tampon and get over it," she deadpanned. "The more you try to avoid me, the more I'll be in your way. The universe has a sick sense of humor." Like getting the two of them paired up together. "So we either hash it out some more, or pick a damn war." Nina looked over at Bellamy with an eyebrow raised.

you think YOU'RE GUARD MATERiAL This was going to be one hell of a long assignment. She wasn't going to split up the work to prevent him from getting his way? He remained unimpressed with her telling him to change his tampon. As if calling him a woman was an insult, which, he didn't see how it was. It was her next words that he couldn't remain silent on. "No, you have a sick sense of humor cause you're the one who keeps getting in my way." Mainly, when she had barged into his apartment and dumped the food there.
As if it was a favor to him. As if he had to owe her something. Something that he couldn't quite let go of. He would have to put it on the back burner though, for the sake of this project. "Fine," he stated bluntly. "How far back in history do you want to go?" He questioned, rather than deciding for them both. They should pick something that they both had a vested interest in, otherwise . . . they'd just keep getting annoyed at the each other from the chosen topic.

She snorted at his comment. How the hell was she getting in his way? Was he trying to accomplish some unknown plan and she was getting in his way? Other than the assignment, she couldn't think of anything. But they had already gone over this and Nina knew that if they split up the work, they would get caught. She had merely used the situation to poke his buttons a little. Especially now that she thought about it, her dad was constantly breathing down her neck about her school work. He knew her schedule and she found it creepy. If he saw her working on a project that he knew was supposed to be done in a group, he would rip her a new one and turn her into her teacher. But Bellamy didn't need to know that. But thinking about her dad, and what he could do, exhausted her at the mere thought. She would not have the energy to fight both him and Bellamy.
"Look," she began with a sigh. "I'm sorry for barging into your place, okay? Despite what you might think, I was honestly just trying to help." Apologizing to Bellamy Blake had been one of the more difficult things she had done lately. She tried not to shuter at the thought, but at least it was over. He probably would only scoff, thinking her apology to be a ruse, but she didn't care. "I'll make a note that helping is frowned upon in this establishment." Her attempt at lightening the mood, though she doubted it helped. Looking through her book, she thought about his question. She didn't really have a favorite war, as she found the idea to be a little morbid. But she had always been a little more interested in World War II. She had never understood the mass genocide of an entire group of people and how it had even gone that far. "Not a huge fan of the Civil War in the United States," Nina said. "But I don't really have a preference. You?" She asked.
