Jackson admitted that it hadn't been in his power, but that he didn't agree with it anyway. O nodded, but didn't say anything about it. It wasn't until he said "--Monitored your vitals." That she raised an eyebrow. That sounded . . . invasive? "My what?" She didn't know a lot of medical terms, as her and Bellamy had always found history more exciting then medical things. Vitals. Was that the stuff her wristband had told them? O had been one of the last ones to remove her's, and then she had only done it to help get in contact with the Ark.

She knew why Bellamy had had the others remove their bands however. She wasn't going to talk shit about that choice to anyone thought. Bellamy had done what he done, and there was no point in holding it over him. He was making better choices now, and she was proud to be his sister. Anyone who said different could deal with her, and her sword. She didn't expect Jackson to talk bad about that, so she didn't get defensive, just curious about the term he used.

He was surprised when Octavia didn't know what vitals meant for a brief moment, then he had to remind himself she'd never had a doctor examine her before she was arrested. Now that Jackson thought abut it, he had a vague memory of helping Abby with that exam. "Basic vital signs are body temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure," he explained.

"Our wrist bands were more detailed than that, though. We could read things like plasma osmolality, which is just an indicator of how hydrated or dehydrated your were. We knew immediately when you guys found safe water to drink. We were monitoring your ketones, which told us if you were starving. Anything we needed to know to determine if Earth was habitable, we watched."

O stared at him still, while trying to follow what he was saying. It was like when she was trying to understand Lincoln's language for the first time. Every 5th word or so was one she had to use the context of what he was saying to try to understand, but she really didn't. They'd basically been inside her body to see how she died, but then planned to what . . . write her off if she died? While she knew it wasn't directly him, it still only made her think the people leading the Ark in that moment where cold dicks.

She looked away from him and toward Lincoln, finding her self once again respected his culture more then her own. "Looks like you had everything covered," she said a bit bitterly. She was bit sorry she asked. O looked at her lover for a long moment, and tried to figure out if she was angry or bitter that the people who were supposed to protect it's citizens had kicked them out so coldly.

If they were really watching all that, O bet Bellamy's nightly 'flings' really toyed with their numbers. Rolling her eyes, she looked back at Jackson. "Did anyone try to stop it?" She asked, wondering if anyone cared that the Ark sent kids down to die?

Jackson didn't miss the way Octavia looked away from him, or the bitterness in her voice. He'd slipped into Doctor Mode, and things like the bracelets excited him. They hadn't at first. While helping develop them, he'd been stressed and sleep deprived and constantly worried if they were doing everything they could for the kids, and for Project Exodus. But knowing what he knew now, he was at least able to look back and appreciate that those bracelets were incredible medical technology that he'd helped to create. "We needed the data," he said gently, but didn't push it.

When she then asked if anyone had tried to stop it, he sighed. "I wasn't involved from the beginning, so I don't know who, if anyone protested the decision up front. Once I was informed, I talked to Abby abut my concerns about it not being morally sound to send children down, but there was nothing that could be done at that point. The Chancellor had made his decision." He didn't bother pointing out again that he'd eventually realized the first dropship was their only chance to survive anyway.

O looked back at him has he spoke, and she eventually nodded her head. He hadn't really approved, but couldn't stop it. She knew that the chancellor had been the one to do this, and he had been the one in the video that told them they were expendable. His own son! How did one say something like that about their own kid? O knew Bellamy had tried to kill him, but she was glad--for Bellamy's sake--that he had failed. Bellamy wasn't a murder. He didn't do things like that.

"Guess they learned their lesson," She added on, her tone bot quite bitter, but more ironically matter of fact. "We screwed everything up." She blamed a lot of that on the fact that the peace talks had turned into a shoot out! She knew the grounders were their to protect Anya in case they tried anything. Jasper gt scared and shot first! O knew she had to let it go, but she did blame him for that. She wouldn't throw his name out now though. He was one of the missing, and if this was what that place had done to Lincoln, then she could only imagine what they were doing to Jasper, Monty and the others.

Jackson had heard stories about the kids' first month on the ground, of course most of those stories had focused on the Sky People as heroes, for obvious reasons. Octavia, the girl with the Grounder boyfriend, obviously had a different point of view. "That's not what I'm told," he said. It wasn't a judgment of her words. He'd already told her he didn't believe everything he was told automatically. The things he'd been told were too black and white to be completely true.

"I was told one of your friends in the mountain was speared and almost died on day one without provocation, though," he added. "If that's true, I don't understand how that's you guys screwing everything up."

He blamed the grounders. Of course he did. She knew that they had struck first, but that was their way. Knowing what they did now about how the mountain did this--She looked at Lincoln--to their people, she could understand why they hadn't just warned them. O also knew not many agreed with her. Just maybe herself, and Finn. There was a reason they were unpopular with the others. Though Finn had also just recently went against everything he said he believed in and killed 18 innocent people! Which meant she was alone. No one else seemed to get it.

She wanted to look at him and tell him that he was right, he would never understand because he wasn't there. It would be a snide comment, and she had always used them to not have to deal with others. Not looking at him she spoke, "Did they also tell you we burned one of their villages, kidnapped and beat one of their warriors AFTER he had gone out of his way to help us, and when we went to make peace after that, shot them up before peace could be made?" She looked back at him, "Or do they only tell you what they want you to hear? We might not have started it, but we had a few chances to end it, and instead we only made it worse." Not we. She knew were the fault belonged with.

Jackson looked over at Octavia as she spoke, sensing the anger in her words, and not really feeling surprised by it. It seemed like they'd been going back and forth between a comfortable conversation and her only barely tolerating his presence since they'd started talking. He didn't really blame her for his mistrust of him, but he'd wished that his openness to both sides of the story would have been obvious by now.

"For the most part, no," Jackson said, with a sigh. He'd heard about the village, but not the rest. "People don't usually tell war stories they aren't the hero of. I'm well aware of that." Jackson wondered if Octavia wanted to tell him more, but he wasn't sure he wanted to ask. He wasn't certain he wanted to know. Jackson hadn't been on the ground long enough to say for certain who was right and who was wrong, but he had to take came of his people. He glanced at Lincoln again. He would take care of anyone in need, really. He'd rarely been political, and now more than ever, he needed to stay as neutral as possible.
