The commander was not only responsible for acts of warfare, but also responsible for upholding justice. As she sat on her throne with Titus by her side, Lexa watched as a shopkeeper escorted a young woman who dripped with familiarity to stand before her. "What is the meaning of this?" Lexa asked as she looked over the woman. Her long black hair and blue eyes should have sparked immediate memories, but instead Lexa found herself with a furrowed brow, trying to figure out who this girl was. She knew her, there was no question-- but when she realized that the woman who stood before her was a girl who came from the village she was born in, the shopkeeper was already speaking.
"This Trikru girl has been stealing our wares-- not only mine. She's been a roach in Polis for too long. We demand justice. She's stolen her weight's worth--" Lexa raised her hand to silence him as she watched Klara. There was no wondering if the girl remembered her. Not many forgot Lexa in her village. She remembered the day she was pulled from her family and friends to be trained in Polis. It had been a necessary sacrifice, but it didn't mean she had forgotten those she left behind. When she returned to TonDC to second for Anya, Klara hadn't been there. Yet still, Lexa remembered playing with her as a child, even if things had changed. Lexa stood and pulled out her small hunting knife from her sash before cutting the cloth bindings from Klara's wrists.
"Your reputation precedes you, Klara." Lexa said with a slight smile. She wasn't lying. She'd heard of her work; thieving in Polis was no small feat. Especially considering the danger. Spilling blood was forbidden, though... So Klara was lucky that she was brought to her. "Killing her will not bring your wares back to you. She will work to pay off her debts to you, and to those she has stolen from." He looked disappointed, but Lexa's expression made it clear that this was not a debate. "Go and tell the others," she said dismissively as she looked back at Klara. She didn't speak until the shopkeeper was gone, and then she tilted her head. "Stealing? Surely you could be using those skills back in TonDC for good."
