Raven couldn’t concentrate. She was supposed to be fixing a jammed gun, but her head just wasn’t in it. Not today. Her mind was preoccupied by more urgent matters. Matters that for once were far more interesting than her work. Who knew that would ever happen? It was almost time for her to leave anyway. Hopefully when she got back to her work station she wouldn’t be so distracted but for now, she just left the gun and started packing away her tools.
She couldn’t remember the last time she’d felt this excited to meet with someone. Maybe she was finally moving past the pain she’d suffered on the ground, or maybe it was the forbidden nature of it all. It just made her feel so hot and bothered. Never in her life had she felt passion or pleasure quite like this. It was the fact that they really definitely shouldn’t be seeing each other. But how could something that felt this good be so wrong? Finally making her way through a hidden pathway outside camp to a small wooded area, she found him. Already waiting for her as usual. He was never late. This was their space. Nobody else ever came here, so there was no chance for them to be disturbed. Perfect. “Kane,” she called with a smile. He always asked her to call him Marcus, but she couldn’t help it. Force of habit she always said, but really she secretly loved calling him Kane. It was a good strong authoritative name. And that alone just did things for her.

Surely he was too old for this. Marcus Kane was a man of the highest reputation and had always been proper to a fault. He had rules and liked order. So the fact that a brassy and bold little minx who was almost half his age had made him feel like he was a younger man who still felt the thrill of sneaking out of the house to meet a girl was almost unsettling. Here he was, walking right out of camp, and waiting for her to join him. He worried about her safety, but if there was anything he knew about Raven Rayes, was that anyone who got on her bad side better hide. She wasn't the type to go down, much less go down without a fight.
When he heard his name called out, Marcus turned to look at her. He didn't know why she called him Kane, and not Marcus. Apart of him like it; liked how it had an almost power to it. He liked control, and she seemed to like giving it to him when they were together. Not in an overly domineering way, but somewhere int he middle. The fact that he liked it didn't stop him from saying what he always said, "You can call me Marcus." Though he knew she wouldn't.
When she got close enough, he reached out to put his hand on her ribs, with his fingers hooking behind her so he could pull her toward him. His other hand cupped her jaw line as he tilted her head for his kiss. This was what he waited all day for her. Kissing her didn't bring him peace, or put him at ease. It made him feel, and need. "I was beginning to think you weren't coming." He told her, as while he was always early, she was either right on time or late. They were complete opposites.

Raven didn’t know what came over her, unsure of when she’d even started to have feelings for Marcus. But now he consumed her every thought. It was almost frustrating. He was the only man she’d ever been with who she really lost control to. Not something she’d ever been used to, which was perhaps the reason she found it so endearing. It was new to her. He didn’t make her feel like some jewel to be treasured. He made her feel like a goddamn woman and she loved it. Finally approaching him, she smiled at his words, knowing it was a sentimental habit between them for him to ask that. But she wouldn’t concede. Holding on to that bit of control at least
Even the way he kissed her was different than any other kiss she’d experienced. It took her breath away and left her wanting more. And he knew it. “I’m not that late.” She had never been one to really value punctuality, a quality she knew Kane prized. As long as she got there eventually she didn’t really think it mattered if she was exactly on time or not, a sentiment that probably drove him insane. “And besides I always come…eventually.” They really shouldn’t work but somehow all their differences made it possible. It was those little things that she loved so much about him. Kissing him again, Raven smiled into it, taking her time to really take in the feeling of his lips against hers. She’d never get over it. “Mmm…I’ve been waiting all day for that. I guess I actually should have come on time.” They didn’t often find time alone together away from the possibility of prying eyes. The secrecy of their relationship raised issues like that, but she couldn’t deny how damn hot it was too.
