She was right. They might need it. But this was not a decision Clarke could make alone. It was not one she should make alone or felt comfortable making alone. Maybe she wanted to do this, but it didn’t mean the rest of them wanted it. They would have terms, probably, would need things from the Grounder Clans as well, to enter a coalition with them. They would negotiate a give or take, so Clarke could not say yes. Not yet and not alone. She nodded to Lexa. “I understand.” She answered. “And I will relay the idea to my people.” It was a promise for her more than anything else. She would speak to them, but this time their form of ruling their people had to be respected, otherwise this would be based on the wrong footing entirely. Clarke had taken charge in the battle around Mount Weather, but this was a decision that had to be decided with the council, with Kane, her mother and Bellamy.
“Our council and chancellor have to decide it. They will weigh up the options.” Make demands and all that. “I am sure we can find a good deal for both sides. As you know we have things to offer, too.” And they would be a huge part in rebuilding Mount Weather in a positive way, to use their resources positively. The least they could ask was for something in return for their services, especially the medicinal ones, that could help them greatly. Mount Weather along with the remains of the Ark could become a beacon of hope for the Grounders. “We should also discuss Mount Weather and your and your peoples involvement in rebuilding and aiding the remaining ones.” The innocent ones. It was clear they had to pay in some way, but they couldn’t pay if they didn’t have a stable footing anymore. They needed that back.
