Marcus was standing at the doorway to the Ark, and looking over the lands they had claimed for their own. Two years ago he had been on the Ark, up in space, and trying to figure out how to save his people. He had believed the only way to do it was with a mass culling. Today, he was trying to figure out how best to save his son, and knew he would not fail him again. Marcus had not known that the Blakes were his children until Sydney had tried to use them against him in her political fight for power. Make one of them kill Jaha. Let Marcus become chancellor. Revel his children (both) and their crimes to weaken his power, and then over take. Thankfully it had not worked. Which led them to now, and the face that Bellamy Blake had been missing for so long. A year and a half. Marcus had been out in the woods with a hunting party when they'd crossed paths with the Tree People, and things got heated. He had fired at one, breaking their mask rather then killing--which he was more the thankful for that mask every day. When he'd saw the face, he knew whom it was. Thankfully the breaking of the mask had given Bellamy pause (either from shock or the impact) long enough for Marcus to use one of his other weapon (a gun that had darts in it) to put him down long enough to take him home. Bellamy didn't have a clue he was. He wouldn't even speak to Marcus, just stared at him the way the grounders did. He had sent for Octavia, and from what he heard from watching the events in the room from a camera, Bellamy was starting to remember. Looking down at the broken mask in his hands, Marcus knew he needed to talk to his son. Find out what was happening, and how this happened. Walking to the room they had given him, Marcus knocked on the door. It had not been long since Bellamy had regained his memories, but they were all trying to find out what would be happening next. He'd stay of course, but did the grounders do this to him? Should they look at retaliation? Had he been abused in anyway? Bellamy was his son, and Marcus would not allow any harm to come to him--not again. The last time Marcus had seen him, Bellamy was dressed (mentally and physically) like a grounder. He wondered now who would answer the door. Which Bellamy he would see.

vallier | bellamy AI LAIK WAMPLEI Vallier . . . no, Bellamy . . . hell, he didn't even know anymore. This was all too overwhelming. The past year and a half had given him a woman he loved and a daughter. The past several days had given him a sister and a father. Where did he belong? Where did his loyalty belong? How could he decide? He had been part of Azgeda for a year and a half. Fully assimilated into their culture, their lifestyle . . . everything. And now here he was. In a place called Arkadia.
With the Sky People -- a known enemy of his family. No wait. His family was here. His family was . . . between the two. So where did that leave him? In a bit of confusion. He was sitting on the edge of his bed, trying to gather his thoughts. It was too much to be out there. People seemed to expect something of him. People who had known him from before. The memories were slowly starting to come back, but that made it no easier. Octavia was here.
His sister. A person who used to be the center of his world. She was here. As was Marcus Kane. A man he had found out was his father after he'd come to the ground. The two of them had been planning a video call, but the Ark had apparently lost power. Bellamy felt so many things and amidst all that was guilt for forgetting all this. For not recognizing his very own sister. How could that even be possible? How had he let himself be so fargone? Hearing a knock at the door, he pulled himself from his thoughts and just looked at it. He didn't feel like speaking to anyone, and yet he did at the same time. He wanted to talk to his family.
But that also included Echo and his daughter, whom he missed to the point of feeling his heart ache for them. Eventually he rose to his feet, dressed in pants and grabbing a t-shirt that had been given to him and pulled it over his head. He wanted to cover the tattoos as well as conceal the attire of these people. Yet he couldn't do both. So he just used what was given to him. Taking a deep breath he opened the door to reveal Marcus Kane, his father . . . apparently. Bellamy, Vallier . . . no. He supposed he was Bellamy here. He just stared at him, unsure what to say in this moment. What could be said? So he didn't say anything. He just stepped aside to grant the man entrance if he wished to come in.

Bellamy was at least dressed like a normal person now, rather then a grounder, but Marcus noticed that he said nothing. From what he had learned of Bellamy it wasn't that he was a say nothing type. He had been able to use words to roust the crowd, and turn the tides. Silence was something new. Marcus also noticed the edges of the tattoos that could be seen at the edges of the shirt, but he didn't stare at them. Marcus didn't want his son feeling any sort of uncomfortable while he shifted from whatever had been done to him, back into his old life.
He had felt a dull ache in his chest since finding Bellamy, and knowing that he had not been looking for his son. They had assumed he was dead. The fire that the kids set off had killed him. He had never been seen after that. The boy, Finn, he said he made it away but they'd been separated. He was assumed he was making sure that their people were away, and he had not gotten clear in time. They'd mourned him, and put up a fake grave for him to help Octavia--who had come back to them--heal. Had they thought that he was alive and out there--being brain washed--they would have came for him. Hell, he was surprised that Lexa didn't try to use him before this.
"I thought walking around here might help you clear you head some." Marcus suggested, his tone not one of authority, but supportive. "I don't think the sights would remind you of anything, but maybe the people and some of the activities would." He had learned about how excited Bellamy had been at finding rifles, so that was one of the places they were going. Marcus sat the mask that Bellamy had been wearing on a table near the door, returning it to him. "Come," Marcus was assuming Bellamy would agree, as he waited for him to walk down the hall with him.

vallier | bellamy AI LAIK WAMPLEI Walking around. Yes. Bellamy imagined that would help. He wasn't sure he was ready to deal with the crowd. The others. Looking at him. Speaking to him. He didn't know what to do. He could feel that assumption from others that he was staying. Especially from Octavia and Marcus. But . . . he couldn't promise that. He couldn't assure that. He had a daughter and Echo to think about. And that was something he would need to tell his father. Bellamy looked at the mask that Marcus set on the table. His gaze fixated on it, focusing on its symbolic significance rather than Kane's words. The mask.
It represented who Bellamy . . . no, it represented Vallier. But that was not an identity he could just switch off. He had lived as that man for 18 months. He had ties that he could not sever. Turning to look at Kane, the man seemed expectant. That was when his words finally registered. He silently followed him into the hall, closing the door to his quarters behind him. People and activities. Yes. That could certainly help trigger some memories. There were already several familiar faces but he was still not ready to deal with everyone.
As they began to walk, Bellamy decided to focus on questions that could provide somewhat of a safe subject. "So this is called Arkadia?" He inquired. He knew that that was what it was called, as he had heard it references as such . . . but his question was an introduction to wanting to learn more of the subject. He had no memory of what happened when the rest of the Ark had come down. So he was curious -- and supposed he needed to know -- how they had established themselves. Besides, as he previously acknowledged, this seemed to be a safe subject for the time being.

It took Bellamy a moment but finally he joined Marcus and they began walking toward the outside world. Marcus knew that many were on edge having him here. Rumors of brainwashing had filled the city, and everyone feared what he would do to them if he 'snapped back'. Guards were armed with darts to help protect him, and protect the people. They would not give up on him! They would take each set back and try to grow from it. When Bellamy finally spoke, it was in a question about the city. "Yes, we had called it Camp Jaha at first but--" Marcus paused for a slight second, before deciding not to explain how he friend had suffered from the lack of air, and lead a group of 13 out into the desert never to be see or heard from again. "--We wanted to name the city something to honor our roots."
It was a safe enough explanation. They were no longer a camp, they were a city. A people! Thriving and growing and here to stay. The new name was proof of that. He wanted to ask what the people who held him had called this place, but Marcus didn't want him thinking on that, only on the new city, and the new promises that tomorrow would hold! He also knew not to go into too much detail about their numbers, weapons, and methods of protection. Not until the brainwashing was fully out of his head. He didn't want Bellamy having anything to betray his people with, as a way of making sure there was no guilt ever on Bellamy's head for something he couldn't help.
As they came to the outside, Marcus noticed others looking at them. Some whispered were leaned in and given to people beside them, and some even scurried away, or stared. "They will need some time, but you wont have to deal with this for long. There are many who remebers you. Your friend Wick would have joined us, but he is one of the only engineers we have and we over work him a bit." Marcus had also asked him not too so he could have time alone with his son.

vallier | bellamy AI LAIK WAMPLEI Bellamy didn't fail to notice the eyes on him. The whispers. He had experienced something similar. Very similar infact . . . when he had been taken to the Ice Nation. He had experienced those same gazes of curiosity; suspicion; fear. He had thought he'd moved past it after getting himself settled as Vallier. But now, he was re-experiencing it. He swallowed back his emotions, all that training of a warrior suppressing his true emotions getting difficult to put into effect when he was bombarded with all these feelings. He attempted to focus on Marcus' words. Of how they had once called it Camp Jaha -- after the Chancellor. Was he dead? He had heard that Abigail was the Chancellor now. He wondered how that happened; how the title had suprassed his father. Bellamy silently listened, silently followed, absorbing everything.
He then spoke of how they would need time -- something that Bellamy dind't have the luxury of. He couldn't stay. He kenw that much. He spoke of Wick. "Kyle Wick." Bellamy said his full name to fully recall the man. A man who he had been able to call friend. One that he had on the Ark, before they all came to Earth. Familiarity. All of this was . . . familiar. But unsettling all the same. "They remember Bellamy." And that was not who he was. Not entirely. Vallier was still within him. How could it not be? It was Vallier who had fallen in love. Vallier who had become a father. And Vallier who was as warrior living among Azgeda for so many months. "How is Octavia?" Bellamy knew he could ask her, but also knew that she was strong. She would not tell him what she had been through. And he wantd to -- needed to -- know what his sister had endured after he sent her off with Lincoln to be healed. He hoped Marcus would give him an honest answer. Bellamy didn't want to be protected from the truth. Not anymore.

"Kyle Wick." Marcus felt a joy at Bellamy remembering the name. Each time he seemed to remember something else it was a sign that the real Bellamy was coming out. The one who he really was, and not whomever the grounders made him to be. He was coming back home to his own mind. "They remember Bellamy." That was not a good sign, and the momentary joy Marcus felt faded down into the pit of his doubts. He was spoken as if Bellamy was gone. "Was that no who you were to them? Who you still are?" Marcus asked, and tried to understand what was going on his in son's mind. "It was who you were longer then . . . Vallier. Was that the name they game you?" He wondered what meaning it held to them.
"How is Octavia?" That was a question he could smile at. "Now you sound like Bellamy Blake." He tired to joke. "She is thriving. She spends more time the grounders then here, but she has become a good diplomat between the peoples, even if we are still fighting. She has kept us from all out war." There was pride in his voice, because he was her father and he loved his daughter. "She is still with Lincoln, one fo the grounders who has helped us from time to time." Though every time he came to try, he was met with fear, or anger toward him and his people. He still sought to help them by giving advice on the world and how to survive. His advice on winder, hunting, and herbs had kept many alive here.

vallier | bellamy AI LAIK WAMPLEI Marcus asked whether that was who he was to them . . . who he still was. "It's not that simple," he told him honestly, pensively. While Kane was right in that he was Bellamy longer than Vallier, he had established himself as Vallier. He had fully embraced that lifestyle, built a family from it. Would Echo even love Bellamy? He wasn't sure he could even say he was the same man . . . or if she would see him as the same man. "It was," he confirmed. "I was Vallier for a year and a half. I can't just push that away and be the Bellamy Blake that everyone expects me to be." He stopped it there, knowing he shouldn't be burdening this on anyone.
It was his own internal battle to fight. His own conflict. He would have to determine what was best for everyone. Protecting loved ones was nothing new in his life. He just wished he would stop being the reason they were in danger to begin with. The topic of Octavia was a far safer one . . . somewhat. He was relieved to hear that she was thriving. She had embraced the Grounder culture as well, but for different reasons. Rejecting a culture that had condemned her . . . intrigued by a new one that the man she loved was a part of. To hear that Lincoln was still here, that she had that as a support, it made Bellamy further relieved. He had sent Octavia with Lincoln, trusting the man to take care of her. And he had.
"Lincoln is a good man." Bellamy could recall that quite easily, for when his memories had started to return . . . he remembered his last encounter with Octavia before he had been taken by the Ice Nation. But he had once been Trikru . . . a clan that Bellamy's former one was at odds with. "What about you and her?" Bellamy wanted to know what their relationship was. Marcus was her father. Had she embraced that? Was there still that tension? He wanted to understand the dynamics of his family. Because while Bellamy hardly had the time to process and explore the fact that he had a father . . . he hoped Octavia had been able to and that it developed into a positive relationship.

"It's not that simple," Bellamy told him, and Marcus knew that in a way it was not, but that he wanted it to be very badly. "I was Vallier for a year and a half. I can't just push that away and be the Bellamy Blake that everyone expects me to be." But he had been Bellamy Blake for over 20 years, and Marcus did not wish him to so easily dismiss that. He wanted to get to know his son, and now that he had just gotten him back, he wasn't about to loose him to this Vallier person. When the day came that his children had families of their own they would understand. "You were one far longer then the other. Give it some time. Doing some things that seem families to you will help you find your way back to who you used to be." Marcus was not dismissing the last year and a half, but trying to fight to bring his son back to his own mind.
It was why they were approaching the gun range, and the sounds of shots could be heard. "What about you and her?" Octavia. "She has kept us from being in a full pledged war with the grounders, and I have had more pride in knowing her in the last year then I have had for the last 40 years in myself." Marcus told him. "When had grown close, but she spends more time with Lincoln's people then her own." He wished they had grown closer, but he knew she was a following her heart and he supported her in that. "I am pleased by her choice in men. I agree with you, Lincoln is a good man."
Coming to rest by one of the men shooting, Marcus waited for them to finish before taking the gun, and standing before Bellamy. "I am looking forward to getting to know my son, as I have come to know my daughter. There are . . . many regrets that I have from the past, but I want to make sure there are none for us in the future. I am grateful we have that time. I suppose even for the grounders for making sure you were safe, and that you are returned to us at last." Holding the gun out, Marcus smiled toward his son. "I've heard many stories about how good your aim was, and how you trained the others. Lets for ourselves, shall we?" He had heard how glad Bellamy was to find them, how he trained others to protect themselves, and even how he had found for his people on the front line. And now he had insider knowledge of the Ice Nation, and he could better help his people protect their land.

vallier | bellamy AI LAIK WAMPLEI Marcus pointed out that Bellamy was one longer than the other . . . but Bellamy stood by his earlier words of how it was not that simple. He had become emotionally invested into the Grounder life, because of the woman he loved and the daughter that came from their love for one another. He didn't want to argue with the man though, so would just have to leave it at that. Which wasn't too difficult as the topic of Octavia came up. It was enough to form a small smile on Bellamy's lips, hearing of his sister and all she had done for the others. He would always be proud of her; proud of the woman that she had become. It made sense that she spent more time with Lincoln, as the Arkers were people who had rejected her. Lincoln's people were ones that seemed to embrace her. He was glad she found a place that she felt happy; a place she felt she belonged.
"That's good to know," Bellamy stated honestly. "She had been trying to establish peace between the Arkers and Grounders since before you came." But it had backfired. They had broke out into war again, and Bellamy was just releived to hear that it had not happened twice. Bellamy was relieved to know that Marcus and her -- from the sounds of it -- had become close. Or at least, as close as two people could be given the circumstances. Hearing Marcus approve of Lincoln also eliminated that concern of him not embracing Lincoln, which wasn't the case. Bellamy had given Octavia hell, and even tortured Lincoln before. Now . . . he was all too willing to embrace him like a brother. All other thoughts ceased as they neared the gun range, a place designated for training. Bellamy's eyes froze on the weapons before him, more so when Kane offered him one and spoke of how he wanted to get to know his son like he did his daughter. Even saying he'd heard of his skill when it came to shooting.
It was odd. Bellamy recalled being in favor of gun use, however he couldn't remember the feeling of holding one. Nor was he ready to. He just looked at the weapon, unable to reach out and take it. Guns were not acceptable by Grounders for cultural reasons. And . . . that was one aspect of their culture and was difficlt to forgo. He wasn't sure how long he was silent for until he finally psoke. "I can't." That was all he could say. "Grounders don't believe in guns. I haven't touched one since . . . " Since he woke up with no recollection of who he was. He understood what Marcus was doing though. Bellamy imagined that if he hadn't lost his memory, this would be the perfect bonding time between father and son. But he couldn't embrace that right now. It was too much. It felt . . . like a betrayal to the culture that had been ingrained in him. Even being around them made him feel oddly uncomfortable. "I can't. I'm sorry." Though, he wasn't sure what he was apologizing for more. The rejection of Marcus' offer . . . or the fact that he was not the Bellamy that Marcus may expect him to be.

Marcus gave him time to take the gun but the moment stretched on. Marcus assumed it was because Bellamy was thinking about the moment, or trying to savor things, but his words told him differently. Not only was Bellamy not ready to take up the gun, but he was doing it because apart of the other man lived inside him. Marcus had hoped being here would be enough, but clearly more would be needed to help Bellamy feel like himself again. He had not commented on Octavia making peace with the grounders for a reason--he was trying to keep the topic on Bellamy and his life here. He was hard to see him so conflicted, and not know how to help him find peace with himself.
Pulling the gun back toward himself, Marcus watched his son's face. He tried to think of wise words that would help him feel more at ease here, with less of a struggle. "It's not apart of their culture, because they were told it wasn't." He pointed out, knowing it wasn't just a fear of the weapon, but from what he heard it was Mount Weather making them fear it. Years and years of brain washing, from how he had heard the stories from his advisers. He knew Bellamy could tell them more once he was feeling more like himself. He kept his tone gentle, and encouraging. "I know this can't be easy for you Bellamy, you are fighting a war inside you over who you were for most your life, and who you had to fight really hard to be in order to survive. The more you walk in your old life, the easier this will be for you. You can't hold on to the grounder forever. He is not who you are." Bellamy was an Arker, and he belonged with his people--his family. "You're my son, and you belong here."
