Strep. She had told him that someone had gotten strep and he needed to be inoculated. Marcus was angry. He didn't wear his anger like he had in this youth, so the only signs that he was angry was in his still he was. His expression and tight shoulders. She'd lied to him. He wasn't surprised that she had lied to him, but he was angry she had done it. The lost of her daughter had softened him for a moment while he was arresting her, but when the damn pod launched he wanted to shake her. The kids were not going to make it. Earth was not livable. She had sent one more person down to die, and all to stop him from trying to save the rest of the people! It was bad enough that she had Jaha abstaining his vote, and they were waiting a few more days!
They had gone a week with no deaths, and he had thought her up to something when she had gone to Mecca station 9 times, but finding out this? He took a deep breath, to calm himself. Nigel had sold her out. He had been trying to float her for years, and Abby knew it. She had risked everything for a lost cause and he was angry she couldn't see that.
Pushing open the door to the room she was being held in he walked briskly to the table and leaned on it, so he towered over her. "The people are getting restless because once again something launched to Earth." She had done this. Stirred the pot. He had told her in the hallway that he could try to save her, and Raven (as Marcus didn't want to see her floated, just out of his way) but after what she had done he didn't see how. Jaha had used his powers instead. "Was her life worth it? Was your life worth it?" Damn it! He knew she was hurting because of her daughter, but he she wanted to save people he had told her how!

Abby had lied. To Kane, The Council, her friends, everyone. The only person who had known about her plan was Raven Reyes, with whom she had enlisted help from on a very particular project. A project that she knew only the young mechanic could help her with. She was a very smart young woman, having quickly found out that the 100 prisoners had been sent down to the ground. Plus, she was by far one of the best mechanics around, which was what she had needed in that moment. Abby had ended up telling Raven the truth. The Ark was dying and hundreds of innocent people were going to die if she couldn't figure out a way to prove that the delinquents were still alive. Fortunately, she had been able to convince Jaha to hold off on executing all those people for a few more days, but she didn't have much time to prove that the delinquents were indeed still alive. She knew they were alive, that Clarke was alive. The eldest Griffin didn't know how she knew, but somehow she knew. She refused to lose faith in those kids or in her daughter. Clarke was a strong girl. Smart. A survivor. Those kids were alive and Abby was going to prove it. In order to do that though, she needed to go down to the ground. After she was on the ground, she could find the kids and use the radio to contact the Ark. Then she could prove that the hundred were still alive. Prove that Earth was indeed survivable. To get to the ground, she would need a dropship to take her down to Earth, but she needed help. Luckily, Abby knew of an old dropship down in Mecha station that could do just that. Unfortunately, that said dropship was also broken. She needed someone to fix it, and who better to do that than Raven. So, the older woman had asked for her help and the young woman had agreed on the condition that she could come down to the ground with her, which Abby had quickly accepted. It had been the perfect partnership. Both women had people they cared about on the ground. In Abby's case, it was Clarke and in Raven's case, it was her boyfriend Finn. No doubt, they would both do anything for those they cared about.
Working together, they had been able to complete their task. Well...almost. Raven had managed to fix the dropship while Abby had managed to keep suspicion off of them, for the most part. There had been one close call with Kane, but she had managed to convince him that one of her patients had strep and that he needed to be inoculated. The only thing they had needed was a pressure regulator in order to launch the ship. That damn pressure regulator had been their downfall. More precisely, Nigel had been their downfall. Doctor Griffin should have known better than to trust that woman. She should've known that offering her morphine wouldn't be enough to keep her quiet.
Now the guards were coming for them. Kane was coming for them. Thanks to Jackson contacting her, they had gotten an early warning which gave them a few minute head start. Sadly, Abby realized that she would not be able to make the trip with Raven. It was fine though. As long as one of them got down to the ground, the consequences wouldn't matter. The least she could do was stay behind and face the consequences of her actions. She wasn't afraid to face Kane or the guards, just as long as Raven got down to the ground. After a quick goodbye to Raven, the older woman set off to face Kane and the guards. Once in the corridor, she stood, looking down as she awaited their arrival. Silently praying that the other woman would be able to launch the ship before the guards came and arrested her. Abby believed in her though. She would succeed. Sighing softly, she vaguely wondered what Kane would do to her this time. Would he try to float her again? Lock her up? She wasn't sure, but she knew she wasn't afraid to face the consequences, whether she lived or died. That was just her way. She didn't care if she lived or died when it came to the things she believed in and that would never change. She had taken a risk and it had been worth it. If Raven didn't make it to the ground or ended up dying on the ground like the rest of the kids, that blood would be on her hands. Her belief in both Raven and her daughter was strong though, and that was what had drove her to do what she did. There was still the possibility that Abby was right and the delinquents were still alive, and it was that thought alone as well as the possibility of saving hundreds of innocent lives that inspired her to make this decision. If all went as she hoped, they would all be able to return home to the ground and all of this would have been worthwhile.
When Kane and the guard finally arrived, Marcus confronted her, but she simply shrugged and didn't say anything. He was angry. That much was apparent in his dark eyes as he looked at her, as well as the tense way in which he stood. She knew she was playing a very dangerous game, but she wasn't afraid. Whatever he planned to do to her couldn't be any worse than what he had already done. Once he realized that he wasn't going to get any answers from her, Kane ordered the guards to arrest Abby before sending a few guards to retrieve Raven. Just as the guards were clasping the cuffs around her wrists, a loud sound filled the air. The ship had launched. A smile slowly spread across Abby's lips. Raven had done it. She was going down to the ground. Her plan had been a success and as she turned to look at Kane, her expression was one of pride as she was quickly led away. It was deja vu all over again. Kane arresting her...again. First, he had arrested her for saving Chancellor Jaha's life, and now this. He seemed to be the one always arresting her. It made her wonder if he actually enjoyed arresting her. She liked to think he did, but it didn't faze her. He could arrest her as much as he wanted and she would still do what she thought was right, even if it went against the rules or the law.
Instead of being taken to the Skybox like she had been expecting, she was lead into a small room and locked inside. Abby released a soft sigh before walking over to the nearby table and simply sitting down in one of the chairs as she waited to see what happened next. To her surprise, the door opened several hours later and Marcus stepped into the room, shutting the door behind him before walking over to her and leaning over the table where she currently sat. His tall form easily towered over her from where she sat in a chair beside the table. Hell, he towered over her even when standing up, but he looked particularly tall and intimidating in that moment. Of course, Abby wasn't about to back down. No, she tilted her head up and levelled her gaze with his as he loomed over her. What was this? A confrontation? Lovely. Listening to his words, she said nothing. Keeping silent. The people had heard another ship launch. Good. It was about time everyone learned the truth of what was really going on. Once again, she did not answer when he spoke. She had nothing to say. Raven's life would be worth it if she made it down to the ground and proved that the others were alive. If not, she had made a necessary sacrifice for a noble cause. Either way, whether she had stayed or gone, she would have died anyways. All of them would. As for it being worth her own life, it had definitely been worth it. Ensuring the people's safety on the Ark was her top priority and if she could prove that Clarke and the other delinquents were alive, then no one else would have to die.

salvation comes at a price
Marcus watched her as she said nothing. Nothing! She was just going to sit there and stare at him! It was clear she wasn't sorry for hat she had done! He had told her that he could try to save her, and she was acting as willful and stubborn as her daughter! Marcus stood back up to his full height, and looked down at her. She had gone to Nigel. "Why, Nigel? You knew that I was watching her. You knew that we were waiting for a mistake. She turned you in! You sold her morphine for a part, and she sold me you so I think she was on my side! Do you even know if that thing will make it to Earth?" He asked, watching her, trying to see if she was concerned about Rayes at all.
"You keep pushing, and pushing, but you are going to be the one to push yourself down. Eventually you will be beyond Jaha's help." He knew that Jaha favored Abby strongly. There was something there, and he knew it. Jaha excused Abby anything she did, when he hadn't even pardoned his own son! He didn't like favoritism. She had gone too far this time, but he knew Jaha wouldn't float her. After the long silence, he spoke again, this time his tone was clipped and direct. There was less anger and more resolve. She'd made the mess but he needed to know what they were deal with. "What did you send her down with? What is the plan?" He wasn't helping, but he was going to figure out if it worked. She wouldn't be allowed to do it since she was going to remained locked up for as long as he could manage it. Abigail Griffin wasn't going to get anyone else killed on his watch.
That didn't mean he didn't want her to be right. He did. He would be very willing to admit he was wrong. He wanted to be wrong. But if he wasn't, then everyone would die while waiting to see if Griffin was right. He didn't want to see more people die when they could act now and save the human race.
