WHAT WE HAD TO DO
She was gone. Clarke was gone. She left him. She left the. He knew he couldn't see it selfishly, but her leaving had hurt him. More than he had ever thought she would. All the times she had asked him to stay, he had. All that she had asked him to do, he'd done. The one time he needed her, the one action he did to make sure she wouldn't have to endure this alone . . . bit him in the ass. Because she left him to deal with it on his own. The others were here, but it wasn't the same. Bellamy knew he had to put his feelings aside for the betterment of the camp. For to sake of their people. But it was damn hard. Now being forced to deal with everything he had done. Drowning in the blood of almost a thousand people. Blood that was on his hands.
The four days of lacking sleep, drink, and water, along with the decontamination and harvesting process, had landed Bellamy in medical. Though he didn't stay for long. Just enough for Jackson to fix him up, and then he was on his way. He had informed the doctor that he would be the one to tell Abby about Clarke, aware that she would be asking for her daughter shortly after she woke up, and was strong enough to speak. The drilling had taken a lot out of her, and the recovery would be lengthy. But, not remotely as long as the emotional healing -- if such wounds would ever heal -- over her daughter leaving. Clarke still had a parent here, and that was more than so many others. Leaving him was one thing; leaving her mother, was not something Bellamy could ever understand.
Bellamy had busied himself as much as he could, helping people get settled, checking on them to see how they were healing . . . but the time came where he could put it off no longer. There was still so much that needed to be done, but he had to do this first. Stepping into medical, he saw Abby. She was conscious, undoubtedly waiting for her daughter to visit her. And instead, Bellamy would have to give her the news. It made whatever was left of his heart ache, to know that Clarke was gone and he now had to deal with the aftermath of not only their actions, but her abandonment. "Chancellor," he greeted with a low voice, and a bit of a nod, as he moved to stand next to where she was laying. "How are you feeling?" It wasn't a stall tactic, but genuine concern for the woman. Besides, he knew he wouldn't be able to put it off for long. She probably expected her daughter and instead, was met with Bellamy Blake.
